I want to start off by introducing myself I'm Lanz Pierce a 22 year old artist from NYC, A rapper/singer songwriter. You may not be familiar with me yet but i've toured with Snoop Dogg, performed & collaborated with the oscar winning group Three Six mafia, won new song writer on the rise along side Lady Gaga in 2007 and performed at the Lollapalooza festival on the same bill with none other than Kanye West. Now I'm READY to release my debut EP titled "POINT OF NO RETURN" and with your support, involvement and contribution together we can launch my project and make it happen on a National level.
I've taken the independent route since leaving Interscope records in 2008 because i believe in today's climate its the people who decide whats hot and the fans that dictate success, not the machine. I've opened this door for you to come on board because i believe we have the power to make the world listen AND ACHIEVE GREAT SUCCESS. My goal is $10,000 which will allow me to Mix & Master my already completed professionally recorded EP, Shoot a music video to unleash with my first single, pay for rehearsal space so that my DJ, choreographer, and myself can put together a compelling live show, build a more professional interactive website, and hire a radio/marketing team to work the EP at mix shows, radio stations, and college stations.
My EP "POINT OF NO RETURN" is hip-hop driven mixed with rock and pop influences showcasing my razor sharp flow, and lyrical honesty layered over beats that make you move! Distinguishing me from the rest is the ability to mix my edgy street wise style with heart felt story telling on collaborations with top producers like Young Yonnny ( Trey Songz "Say Ah"), Sisko A.K.A The Disco Pusher ( Theopholius London & Lana Del Ray) as well as Cook Classics (Outtasight "Tonight's The Night.") With the capital you pledge i can REACH MY GOAL of putting out my EP "POINT OF NO RETURN" to impact the music industry and gain the attention of brands for future sponsorship.
The title "Point Of No Return" means the point beyond which one must continue on his or her current course of action because turning back is physically impossible, prohibitively expensive or dangerous. The critical moment at the intersection of never turning back and no return, where a star is born and fear is lost. The theme of the Ep is "Femme Fatal" loosely inspired by the 90's movie starring Bridget Fonda with the same title and by Helmut Newton's black and white photography from the 1960's.
It takes massive drive, hard work and fight to accomplish the milestones and dreams we set for ourselves. No stranger to hard work i began as an unpaid intern at Quad recording studio's in Manhattan as a teenager. After working the open mic circuit, talent shows and underground music scene in and around NY and NJ i received early co-signs from hit makers like Nile Rodgers, Cool & Dre, Jr Rotem and Stargate. My song "Bad Girl" was featured on the NBC hit TV show " Las Vegas," and licensed through SONY/ATV and is currently available for purchase on iTunes. Also my song " Love Waves" was featured on the sound track to the movie "Supporting Characters" starring Tarik Lowe, Lenah Dunham and Arrielle Kebell and premiered at Tribecca Film Festival this past year.
Recently I've been tearing up stages at venues like Green House & Santos, and hitting the summer concert series stage at Six flags opening for Diggy Simmons. I released a music video teaser to a song called " Opening Statement" a no holes barred aggressive track which was featured on blogs like Ddotomen.com, DaVibemag.com, and Strawberryblunt.com and then was later played on FM radio by HOT 97 and DJ Absolut. I've been featured in print publications like YRB magazine, Hiphop Weekly and Billboard. To broaden my audience and my appeal i just became one of the new faces for Contego Eyewear a high end sunglasses line ( see photos on www.contegoeyewear.com) the campaign adds will run on fashion blogs like highsnobiety.com and be featured in Complex Magazine Jan 2013. Next up is to take the music from my EP "Point Of No Return" on the road, tour dates are being organized and set to begin Jan 2013.

I believe the best way to mitigate risk is to be well prepared, as well as have a great team with a unified vision to be most effective.
I have been preparing for the release of my EP "POINT OF NO RETURN" for well over a year and a half. Relying on strong relationships i've built over the years as a professional in the music industry to keep costs down on recording and production, and using free streaming outlets like soundcloud to build a fan base. Meticulously strategizing and building a solid structure of professionals around me to advise and guide my every move.
My professional business team consists of my manger who's represented grammy nominated producers and A-list artists, my creative director helping perfect and mold my visual identity's and live stage show, my legal team, and MOST IMPORTANT MY LOYAL FANS!
The biggest hurdle I have faced thus far is having adequate financing to independently push my project, & pay for the nessacery parts to polish and present my finale product to the world. That is up until now. Im confident with your contributions I will have what I need to maximize all facets of my EP release and minimize the risk of leaving any stone unturned. My PR plan is already in place which will consist of my EP being posted on high visibility blogs with 2million plus viewers and is confirmed for reviews by credible music journalist that know of me from my Interscope tour with Snoop dogg. This means with your pledge to complete a top tier release the public is guaranteed to see and hear it. The timing, preparation, PR plan for high visibility, existing fan base, my team in place , and your financial contribution to help cover costs is a recipe for success!!
