Update #14: Next Kickstarter Launch
Hey friends!
It has been about a week since we finished shooting, and we wanted to check in with you guys to let you know what we are up to.
We have watched all the footage (it looks awesome) and we are working out a post production budget. Remember that the previous Kickstarter funds ($3,500) was only meant to cover the shooting costs of the movie. We used that money wisely and efficiently, and wound up with a bunch of amazing HD footage and audio tracks from four different mics. However, as we explained in the last video, now that we are in Post-Production, we will need more funding in order to cut the film together with the technique and quality it deserves.
For instance, the film was shot in HD. The hardware and software at our disposal does not have the capacity to edit in HD. This means that while we can watch and cut the footage (and some clips from the film will be in the new Kickstarter video coming out in just a couple of days), we cannot watch or cut it in high definition. While standard definition (SD) works fine for computer screens and youtube, it will not work on the full-sized theater screens at film festivals.
Also, we need to pay for a composer, a music recording studio, and a post-production audio supervisor, just to name a few things.
All of that is to say that we will be launching another Kickstarter page in just a couple of days. In fact, we spent all of today shooting the new video.
As a side note, we are beginning to fulfill any of the rewards for the original launch that we can deliver before the film is completed. In other words, we obviously can't send out DVDs until the film is finished, but we can send out sonnets, signed scripts, and all of those warm fuzzies. When you get a chance, respond to this email with your home address or wherever you would like your rewards mailed. Thanks!
Talk to you soon friends! Stay tuned for the next round of Kickstarter!

Dillon Wall, Brandon Fraley, and Edward Hightower met in the midst of other projects. Their biographies are too full and varied to list in this space. Together they form the Pickled Amygdala production team. We recommend you watch the entire pitch video for an excellent representation of what they can accomplish as a team.
In the meantime, we offer this quote from Rumi:
"I tried to think of some way
to let my face become yours."
I'm with you guys all the way and I think it was stroke of genius that you broke down your funding needs into stages. That makes it more doable for everybody.
I learned a lot about the process of putting a short film together from reading this post. Thanks for explaining what some of the next steps will be. It really helps in supporting the project when interesting and relevant details are given about the various steps.
Can't wait to see the new Kickstarter video!! Your fans await :~)
