About this project
What is this project?
I am creating Steampunk themed playing cards that will be sold to magicians, collectors and fans of fantasy art. The deck will have Steampunk and Victorian era styling. It will cost 6500 to print and ship, but I am only seeking half of the cost, 3250, which will serve as a down payment, and a means for me to venture out on my own. Having created a Bicycle deck previously, I have the contacts and the ability to bring this project through the full process.
What will you do with extra funds?
Any extra funds received will be used to buy uncut sheets of the deck to give to pledges and to create merchandise to commemorate the launch of the deck. Also if enough money is raised, it will be used for professional photography, national advertisements and a video trailer.
How will you notify us of your progress?
There will be regular updates with design changes, new designs for face cards, custom artwork displays, and time-lapsed videos cataloging the creation. They will be posted in the updates section, as well as a bi-weekly progress email.
Project Update:
Here is the most current version of the card back. It is most likely the final but I might get antsy and do some little finishing touches before it hits the printers. :)

Project Update:
Here is a version of the Court Cards, represented by the King of Spades. The entire deck will be custom and no card will be left untouched. The goal is to represent what Bicycle would look like in a Neo-Victorian, Steampunk, high-tech society. So the icons and attire will be changed to reflect that image.

FAQ
-
I will be glad to work with people to accommodate fair arrangements to have certain items swapped for like value with in reason, as long as it doesn't make the shipping cost skyrocket. :)

My name is Lance T. Miller and I am a playing card designer and freelance illustrator. I am originally from Maryland, USA moved to Nashville TN where I now live with my wife, two crazy dogs, and a very weird cat. My work has recently graced a deck of Bicycle brand playing cards and I'm on a mission to build a deck designing empire. It is my goal to create a community around deck design and involve the people who buy the decks in the design process. By allowing some creative input from the community, the decks can evolve and take on a new life that we build together.
