We’ve been working non-stop on the sizeable logistical and administrative tasks required to sign a lease for the warehouse, lay the groundwork to transform it, and prepare for everything LA/GS has to offer you later this year. Everything is going well and as-planned!
We have the keys to the warehouse and transformation will begin this month. Up first: painting the exterior in LA/GS yellow and attaching a large logo!
We have worked hard to secure professional yet affordable assistance with the initial “heavy lifting.” That said, we would be in incredibly grateful if any backers would like to step forward with connections who can provide further professional assistance and/or materials.
In the meantime, here are some photos of the Space today —
We’re happy to share that the great rewards you’ve all donated for are on-schedule. We’ll send out backer surveys over the next few days.
Once the surveys are in, we’ll begin printing t-shirts, history poster, and zine (that everyone who donated $55 and above is receiving). For those who donated to receive Pixel Portraits, we’ll begin connecting you with your artists very soon.
Meanwhile, the Game Pack developers have all spent significant time creating their games for you. We’re excited to share sneak-peeks with you as they become available. We’ll start with two IN-DEVELOPMENT gameplay GIFs of Keita Takahashi + Adam Saltsman’s A͈L͈P͈H͈A͈B͈E͈T͈!
Coming soon → LAGAMESPACE.ORG
Our website will launch later this Spring and we’ve worked hard to ensure it includes everything you could possibly need or want to know. It’s where you’ll be able to apply to our residency program, sign up to volunteer at LA/GS, and manage your membership. Once we open, it will provide current and archived listings of exhibitions, talks, and workshops.
(Backers, of course, will be the first to know when the site is live! It’s also worth noting that like most things at LA/GS, we’re building and managing the website ourselves.)
Staying in touch
Once again, we thank you for believing in LA Game Space and are excited to be able to share the next steps of this journey with you. We’ll be sending updates more frequently as the Space (and rewards) take shape. As always, feel to send us a message if you have any questions or suggestions.
