SYNOPSIS:
Meet Adam. Intelligent, scholarship-awarding college Senior—that is until he runs into Jason, the bully from high school, who conjures up Adam’s painful, emotional past: abusive and alcoholic father; despondent suicidal mother; and jail bate, drug-addicted brother. Labeled as a geek throughout childhood, Adam now decides to turn form geek to chic, inspired by a goth drag queen named Eve who performs at Midnight Cabaret, the local gay club. Besides receiving attention from other students on campus, Adam finally has the self esteem and confidence to try out for major theater roles, but for some reason is always rejected. Soon, he befriends the wrong crowd and encounters a downward spiral by using drugs as an escape. Little does he know that this wrong crowd of new friends are also friends with Jason (his bully) as well as friends with Adam’s drug-addicted brother (who only recently got out on parole). It’s a small world after all, especially when it’s time for Adam to find out the hard way of who he actually is and who Eve really is!

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:
Donna R. Clark graduated with honors with a BA in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina in 2006, and in 2007 she founded label me. productions, which produces music videos, commercials, and now gearing towards feature films. She is an award-winning independent producer and screenwriter.
Past projects have been officially selected to screen at several film festivals, such as "Whose Shit Is This?" an underground feature film produced in 2006 and "The Message", screened in 2006 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition, Donna has gained experience in the industry with several other independent films, SC ETV, FOX, and American Idol Productions.
FUNDING BREAKDOWN:
Donna currently is raising funds for a gay psychological feature film titled "Midnight Cabaret". Total bare minimum amount of funds needed is $5,000 US Dollars.
HOW THESE FUNDS WILL BE USED:
Every dollar raised will be spent in the following manner: Professional HD camera equipment (the bare minimum amount stated above), Craft services for cast & crew, High-quality audio equipment, Lighting equipment, props, and Distribution. We're starting very small with a small crew and these are the bare essentials in order to make this unique production possible.
Overall, we aim to provide a highly professional and artistic quality needed to capture the psychological and emotional undertones within the story. With a great team, we will make this happen!
