About this project
The Soundcrawl Hologram is a crystal-clear video projection surface made up of a special projection material mounted to a large free-standing piece of plexiglass.
How does it work?
There's this special film/window treatment a company makes so stores and advertising firms can rear-project on windows. We'd like to buy a piece of it (it catches light from all sorts of angles) and mount it to a free-standing piece of plexiglass, then hit it from behind with a video projector. Most of the magic comes from the special film. But the rest of the magic comes from having a wall-sized piece of crystal-clear plexi. Just imagine, you turn the corner and there's a video image floating! It'll be pretty amazing.
Awesomely Low-fi Sketch:

Why are you doing this?
We run a new-media festival that borrows space from art galleries. Last year we projected video art onto paper on a gallery window, which led to us finding this awesome projection film. BUT, our festival moves venues every year. Projecting on a window is cool. Projecting on a window that you can take with you is even cooler! We like to present innovative art in innovative ways. Somebody will do this eventually; we'd like to be that somebody.
Where will the Money Go?
Towards purchasing the special film and buying the plexiglass and material for the base.
Reward print:
this print is an officially licensed setting of the "Resistance Rant" from noted author Steven Pressfield's book The War of Art. It sells quite well from our etsy store. It's yours with a $25 gift.
