Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects.
At this very second, thousands of people are checking out projects
on Kickstarter. They're rallying around their friends' ideas, backing projects
from people they've long admired, and discovering things that make
them laugh and smile.
Every project is independently crafted, put to all-or-nothing funding,
and supported by friends, fans, and the public in return for rewards.
-
Independently crafted.
The filmmakers, musicians, artists, and designers you see on Kickstarter have complete control and responsibility over their own projects.
They spend weeks building their own project pages, shooting their own videos, and brainstorming
what to offer as rewards.
Rewards are things like a copy of what’s being made, a limited edition, or a custom experience related to the project. This isn’t Best Buy – rewards aren’t shrink-wrapped and ready to ship. Once the project is funded, the journey to bring them to life begins.
-
All-or-nothing funding.
Every project creator sets their project's funding goal and deadline.
If the project succeeds
in reaching its funding goal
all backers’ credit cards are charged
when
time expires.
If the project falls short no one is charged.
Since our launch in April 2009, more than 20,000 creative projects
have been successfully funded by awesome people from around the world.
But Kickstarter is about much more than money...
-
The big picture.
People come to Kickstarter to build community around their projects. It’s inspiring to be supported by people you know, and amazing to connect with strangers who are discovering your ideas for the first time.
The feedback, press, and love that can come with
a Kickstarter project are just as valuable as the money raised. Ask anyone who’s done it before. There’s nothing like it.
Hey Zach! You're absolutely right, there are actually a surprising number of Bigfoot movies out there. Our gripe is that (hopefully without sounding too pretentious as young filmmakers), exactly as you say, they're awful. Or at the very least aren't scary. So hopefully we can do some justice to this under-appreciated genre! A few sweet SyFy titles to check out: Abominable, Sasquatch Mountain, and Yeti. Thanks for your support man!
and just so you know, i was just letting you in on that fact so you could check them out and make yours a hundred bagillion times better than those...surely awful movies haha.
not for nothing. and i hope your flick is super badass, as i've checked out some of your shorts and they're kick-ass...but you said there are no bigfoot horror movies, and i just needed to tell you that there are a many. sorry to knit-pick.
Can't wait to see "Evidence of Sasquatch"! Good luck guys!
Make sure and give us some lead time before Sasquatch comes to visit the f-box.
I also find it awesome to virtually know you guys.
Back at you Phil, was looking into "Dennis", awesome looking project!
Cool project. Awesome to virtually know you guys.
Thanks Susan! We are very excited about the potential of our online character development, and how it will enrich the film. I'm sure we can get a poster to you. Thanks again for you pledge!
Oh, and at the Platinum level pledge, I think I would like one of those 11x17 posters, don't you think????
Associate Producer, huh? I always wanted my name on the big screen....You guys have great potential with the interactive online character development. I think that is super exciting. I will be curious how you develop the costuming for the creature as you get closer to production.
Thanks so much for your support Dale! We're getting closer to our goal everyday, and we're super excited. We'll keep you posted!
I'm thrilled to see your enthusiasm and dedication to your cinematic cause. I'll watch the progress with great interest and anticipation.
