A high quality tee made from bamboo that is designed for the environmentally conscience individual.
"A bamboo shirt???? Can you even do that?" is the first thing I hear out of anybody who I talk to. Yes, your eyes do not deceive you friend, it is made from bamboo. My new start-up Kryptos Apparel is offering a new choice in clothing, and this choice is a lot greener.
The Shirt
Bamboo is one of the fastest growing fibers in the world. It also makes some of the softest tees you will ever wear! I set my sights on designing a high quality shirt for the environmentally conscience individual, and this is it!
This shirt has several schweet features that you want in a good tee. The bamboo fiber is naturally anti-microbial, absorbent, wicks away more heat than a 100% cotton shirt, and is environmentally friendly (Seriously I wore my sample shirt on a 7 mile bike ride, with lots of hills and high southern humidity and felt great!). These shirts are very soft, and feel like a silk cashmere blend, certainly softer than any tee out there. My shirts are also made from moso bamboo, which is not a variety eaten by pandas, making it panda safe.
The shirt is the natural color of the bamboo fiber, that means no harmful dyes. Also because the fiber is naturally light in color, you can use dark less harmful water based inks. Typical tees are printed with plastisol oil based inks, that contain PVC resin. This resin is comes at a big cost to our planet. Water based inks are safer and have a much softer hand. This design comes in a 70% bamboo 30% organic cotton men's style, and a 100% bamboo fitted scoopneck woman's style. Both styles come in the natural fiber color, with the design printed with water based inks.
The Design
This is my first Kryptos Apparel design. However I have had several shirts printed before. The idea for this design hit me, while looking at some old style tea shipping crates.
The Kryptos Apparel bamboo K logo is surrounded by the name and slogan of my new brand. Everything Means Something hints at the environmental benefits of our brand. This stylized version of my logo is mounted on some bamboo poles, to make the design even more organic.
