The Turtle Shell was announced at CES in January 2012 with prototypes and got rave reviews from BIG names. It has a number of patents pending including the FIRST EVER camera threading on a speaker allowing it to attach to ANY standard camera accessory. This is a super important feature of the Shell, it means unlike every other portable speaker, it is truly built for on the go action. You can mount it to your bike, your baby stroller, or a tree branch when camping.

Pretty darn rugged, it is IPX5 Water resistant and dust proof, meaning you can roll around in the rain and get it splashed at the beach, but you can't submerse it.
It is also SHOCK proof, it can be dropped 4-5 feet into a hard surface.

The Turtle reaches over 100 DB, packed with two 2 watt speakers and a passive bass port on the bottom, the Shell THUMPS and Sounds super clean. Check the Drop Video for a little sample of the audio as well.
