Ben Fundis put together this short edit while in the process of working on the longer DVD edit.

Some of you have been asking about the CDs and DVDs so, I want to take a moment to explain what's going on.

For the CD and DVD rewards my original plan was to create to content from our live performance at Basilica Hudson. Harold Bryant, who helped record the video segment for the Discovery Cannel piece on machines, had volunteered to record video for the Basilica Event. I was excited about this since Harold is an experienced professional videographer. I didn't bother to line anyone else up to record video for the event. 1 hour before our performance Harold called me to inform me that he had been in a minor car accident and woud not be able to film the event. In that short amount of time I was unable to line someone up to film.

My original solution to this problem was to collect video from audience members and to try to edit that into something that was coherent. There ended up just not being enough footage to create a DVD from.

As for the audio; Tommy Stinson and I both had separate recording setups at the show. The power draw from the Machines was creating power surges that were causing our mic interfaces to shutdown. Being that we were in the middle of the performance, we were unable to address this problem.

Luckily for those who want to hear the performance in it's entirety, WGXC was able to record the whole show. I'll include a link below. The quality was not really worthy of a CD, but it is documented and available online.

I had been trying figure out the best solution for the Audio/Video problem and decided to reinstall the Machines for a live performance in my studio. Tom DePietro and Dorothy Heyl generously donated some money to make this possible.Tony Stone lent some of his lighting and video equipment. Patrick Stephenson, Justin Higgins, David McDonald, and Young Paris all donated their time to film the performance. Matthew Cullen brought an entire recording setup and recorded the performance in surround sound. All the musicians took time away from their other projects to perform. This all took place last Friday.

I'm now trying to collect footage from everyone who filmed. I'll be working with Ben Fundis to edit footage from 6 different cameras. This will take some time, but I hope to be done with it soon. I'm also waiting to get the masters from Matthew. I should have CDs sooner than DVDs, although I am trying to do all my mailings at once.

I have included some pictures and audio clips from the night. The audio is best heard through headphones as it spans a frequency range the exceeds that of most computer speakers. The clips were taken from a handheld recorder and the masters will be of much higher quality.
