About this project
SYNOPSIS
Hi friends! So, here's what we're funding. I want to record a short production CD with about 15 songs I've written or performed for you over the past few years. Some favorites that I will guarantee a spot on this CD: Christmas with Charlie Brown (Christmas 2009), You Are Loved (Women's Retreat 2009), and Broke (Lent 2010), among others! These are just a few of the songs that you've all but demanded that I record. Well, here's our chance - but I've got to have your support to make it happen!
HOW IT WORKS
Basically, KickStarter works like this: I'm trying to raise $3,000. If I don't raise $3,000, then nobody pays a dime, and I don't do the project. If I raise more than $3,000 (or spend less than $3,000), I will start donating the excesses so that the project makes a tangible contribution relative to its level of support! It's that simple!
WHY KICKSTARTER?
Why do it this way? Because actions speak louder than words! It's easy to ask me for a recording - but it's a huge investment on my part with no guarantee of a return! Doing it this way makes sure that everyone gets what they want out of this project, in proportion to their investment! I'm not doing it for financial gain, so the reward for me is bringing you excellent music. And if the project raises more than $3,000, it's all icing on the cake, because 50% of any additional funds raised will go straight to Haiti relief efforts via UMCOR.
HOW WILL THE MONEY BE USED?
As for the $3,000 itself, part of this money will be set aside for administrative fees, taxes, etc. The rest will be used to pay for artwork, backup musicians, instrument needs, studio recording and production, and album pressing. I'll be transparent about the whole process and will let you all know exactly how the costs pan out! I also want to be as cost-effective and environmentally friendly as I can be, so I will be recycling jewel cases for this project, just like I did with the Campbell UMC Praise Band CD project. I'll also be offering a digital-only option to anyone who prefers it, no matter what level of support you offer.
THE REST
Friends, this project is pretty exclusive. I don't intend to press a bunch of extra copies of this CD to sell. I only plan to press what is demanded. There's a reason for this, too. As many of you know, Elizabeth and I will be moving soon! Since so many of these songs were inspired by you, written for you, performed for you, and crafted, for you... well, I can't think of a better way to leave a part of myself behind in your hands and hearts. This project is for any of my fans, but it's greatest appeal is to our Springfield family. So, rather than take a bunch of unsold CDs along with us, I'd rather leave these songs where they belong... right here, in your homes and your cars and your iPods.
So, will you get behind me? I'm excited, and I hope you are, too! If you are interested in making this project happen, check out the contribution levels to the right. EXECUTIVE PRODUCER :: Pledge at least $100 to receive everything listed above, plus the exclusive honor of being listed as an Executive Producer on the project. This includes special mention on the disc itself, on the album cover, on my website and in any consequent publicity! (And just think, you can tell people, "I'm the executive producer on a HOT CD that sold out the day it was released!) Ahem, in addition, all Executive Producers will have access to AS MANY COPIES of "Gone Forever" that they desire (OK, within reason... let's say max 20). As long you tell me how many you want before the project is completed, I'll make it happen!

PLEASE DON'T STOP THE MUSIC :: Pledge at least $250 to receive everything listed above, plus a special edition of "Gone Forever" which includes any ONE EXTRA SONG of your choosing to be studio recorded and produced under your direction! This could be one of my songs, a remix of one of my songs, a hymn, a pop song... your choice! You will also receive a digital copy of this song in the media format of your choosing, and you will have the option of pressing up to 5 of your extra discs to include your special song as a bonus track!

That's right - you give me the idea, a purpose, a direction... maybe it's a gift for a relative, a lover, a friend... maybe it's a praise song you've written but don't have the music to... maybe it's a scripture that you want to see made into a song... whatever it may be, you'll be hiring me to do it for you! And I accept! Not only will I write a song for you, I'll studio record it, and I'll press it for you on an exclusive single! I'll never sell it unless you want me to... no, this one is for you to do with as you please. I don't know what else I could do for you! Fix your computer, I guess... :-)
