About this project
On 19 November 2010 - National Entrepreneurs Day - more than 100 entrepreneurs will gather together at the Hacker Dojo in Mountain View, California for Startup Weekend, hosted by Women 2.0. For two solid days, they will pitch new business ideas and collaborate to make them a reality.
We're a production team from San Francisco State University's Digital Video Intensive. Working nimbly in small units fanned out across the event, we will find the people and ideas that will capture the extraordinary story of people who are changing the future.
But more than that, we're documenting a seismic shift in the way people create new opportunities, for themselves and for millions of new employees every year. We're capturing the story of the new startup ecosystem - an emerging business environment that runs lean, releases products rapidly and ramps up the creation of customer value as quickly as possible. We're making a documentary about pure possibility in the form of new ventures.
Our crew has more than 20 members who will work rotating shifts during shooting. Post-production will be handled in our lab in downtown San Francisco.
Our fundraising target puts us on track to produce a short documentary of fewer than 40 minutes. If we raise past our goal, we will produce a second cut of a feature-length film. The money pays for team expenses (transportation and accommodations) as well as equipment rentals. We'll shoot to Panasonic P2 cards and we expect to generate a few terabytes of footage.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
