Update #15: Manufacturing Update
Hello Everyone,
After weeks of going through production quotes from both US and overseas manufacturers, we have made a decision and are in the process of drafting the manufacturing contract with a company in Shanghai.
This was a difficult decision for us to make, as we were hoping to be able to keep our production in the US. Unfortunately, the associated costs were roughly 10x's over our overseas options– which forced us to either:
A. Manufacture overseas. Satisfy Kickstarter backers and bring product to market within 3 months at a reasonable MSRP.
or
B. Choose US manufacturer. Attempt to raise over $200K over x number of months. Retail Versa Ruler for over $72.
We chose option A and are happy to report that we should have our first samples by the beginning of May. We will also be sending out our surveys within the next two weeks or so.
We hope to have more project updates as the process moves along.

Update #14: Into production we go...
Now that we have reached our funding, we can move quickly into the manufacturing stage and begin to get some quantities of Versa Rulers made. We want to let everyone know that quality craftsmanship and high-grade materials are our priority. Over the last few weeks, we have been in talks with various manufacturers and have pretty much come to the conclusion that we will be manufacturing in the US.
We will keep everyone informed every step of the way and would, again, like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone that has helped to make the Versa Ruler become a reality.

You might want to wait until you are closer to shipping to do this. First of all, some of the payments might not go through. Second, you may find that some international buyers forgot to add the additional shipping, so you will need to collect that. Finally, people do move, so you want to wait until as late as is practical to collect the address.

We made it, Horray!!!!!!! We’ve just reached 100% funding – thanks to all of you! We are eternally grateful for your continued support and all of your pledges. We so excited to go in production, and hope that we can get you your rewards quickly and that you like them all.

So, if you're getting samples at the beginning of May, and you're doing this in China, you probably won't be shipping until July or August. You really shouldn't send out the surveys until you are a couple of weeks away from shipping. Otherwise, you're going to have to deal with address changes for the next 4 months.
Biggest DISAPPOINTMENT that this is getting made in CHINA.
