We want to take a little time off our busy schedules (shipping and shaping up Klingg as a company) and devote some time to reflect upon the las 24 Months.
It all began around January 2011 when Gustavo and I envisioned what could become a useful little device to hold your earphone cables in place... 15 months delayed and exponentially more time and resources invested in the project than what was initially forecasted the result is the the Klingg, the most amazing earphone cable holder ever created.
The Klingg is the result of a determined will to go beyond our promise to deliver a product that has no paralel in the market, and award wining design, and impecable finish and the strongest magnet of its kind known to this date. Those of you who have received the klingg can attest for this.
We want to wholeheartedly apologize for the long periods of silence, there is simply no excuse but the explanation is one of logical meaning, I will explain the meaning now;
After 17+ different prototypes we realized that we had captured the essence of what we wanted but we were simply not prepared to bring to life the Klingg due to design and manufacturing discrepancies. Thus we had to go back to the drawing board and reengineer the Klingg from the bottom up. Amidst criticism, loss of credibility and tired pledgers, insults and disparagement etc. We knew we had to keep the path to deliver what we had initially intended to deliver. The scarce energy left had to be devoted to maintain the integrity of the team and not allow to weaken ourselves, thus any negative review of the status of the project had to be selectively discarded and in many occasions simply turning silent and deaf to those comments was the best option.
Today we say with pride that we "see the light and the end of the tunnel". the journey is far from over as we proceed to the next phase as a startup with plans to expand on the product line and negotiations with major distribution channels.
This update also shall serve the purpose as a reminder that to be an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart... also to remind everybody that "calm waters never made a good sailor" Please accept our apologies and also our thanks for the wonderful comments. its only because of your help (positive and negative) as pledgers, the help of close family members, great friends, a superb team and I want to mention special thanks to Cristina, Gabe, Ian, Joe, Tata, Ernie and Edgar. last but not least our beloved God. Its because you all the Klingg has become the most amazing earphone cable holder yet.
To celebrate this success we want to share a limited time offer for you and your friends as we prepare to take part in the ING MIAMI MARATHON 2013 Expo next weekend.
