I'm blown away, I received a refund months ago even though I still wanted this product but understood the reason why. Today I checked my mail and I see that Kioky sent me an applicator. I gotta say that I'm sorry for all the troubles you guys had with this product but the service is awesome. Thank you very much for sending me an applicator and please don't give up cause I hope this see this product for the new iphone 5 and iPads too. Thank You.

Hi Kioky Team and fellow backers,

I think we backers have a general agreement that the included screen protectors in the kit are sub-par. Either they don't fit the applicator properly (those of is with version 1) or they are poorly cut and run too close to the edge of the iPhone. Either situation results in bubbles and/or debris.

Other known issues are with the adhesive pads. Either they are too sticky or not the right thinness.

I was really excited for this project, before backing, after backing and after funding was successful.

I contacted your support department/person and initially was accommodated, but the accommodation (replacement applicator version 2 and additional screen protectors) was ineffective.

This project is following the trend that has become the negative perspective of "Made in America". I don't really know if the screen protectors themselves were made in America, but my Chinese model screen protectors and Japanese model screen protectors fit better (perfectly) and apply easier in your applicator than the ones you include.

These issues are things that would have been assumed ironed out before the products actually shipped.

What makes this project harder to understand is that you have a Twitter account that is constantly promoting your company and product, but everything is sold out / back-ordered. How do you project you will succeed in the future with all these delays, product build quality issues and overall lack of commitment to quality. We want you to succeed, but our faith is being tested.

At this moment in time, word of mouth is your friend and the current word of mouth is either silent or negative.

Sometimes making the hard decisions is difficult, but as the saying goes, "Man Up" and get the job done right. Change the game and make "Made in America" a positive thing.

Feel free to send all your backers an email with a reminder of what your action plan is to deal with the ever increasing issues.

Hi Guy,

I met your crew at Macworld 2011. I was impressed with the Kioky products (and young husband/wife team), so I backed you (Kioky) with $30.00. For that, I've never received any product, any personal thanks, nothing. As a small company I understand growing pains, but what gives? As the world spins, there are more pressing issues than receiving a Kioky applicator or "credits", so I'll leave this note with a smile. I hope you would consider donating my good intentions to the relief efforts in Japan. Hopefully we can all make someone's life a tiny bit better. Peace.

So which unit is the old one? I received a white i4 unit with 6 dots and 3 protectors (all of which have now been used; I did not request an old unit).

Some comments about the use of the unit I received (I consider myself a semi-pro screen shield installer; I can typically get them installed with no bubbles or lint under the protector - bathroom with shower on + some scotch tape is the key). Anyways, here are my thoughts:

1) The shields don't fit as well as they should in installer unit (they tend to buckle/arch up a bit if you try to get them in the groves). I'm not sure if this contributed to any of the issues during my install attempts.
2) The cloth puts more lint on the phone than it takes off. It's really pretty horrible.
3) It took me 3 tries to get one on, and I still had some lint on the last try. The 1st 2 tries, the protector was too close to the edges on one side, thus making it bubble up and not adhere to the screen. The last try was much better, but there is still a piece of lint under the protector even though I used my own lint free cloth and examined the phone prior to installing.

Some thoughts from my experience: It may be good to have an option for case-compatible screen shields (ones that don't go all the way to the edge). This wouldn't be ideal for all, but it would provide an easier install experience since you don't run the chance of coming too close to the edge of the iPhone. Of course, this means that the installer piece would need to be altered.

Hopefully these comments can help improve things in the future.

You got my money now where's my product? These "delays" are unacceptable. If you aren't ready to provide the product then you should hold off on all shipping until the product is ready for the commercial market which it doesn't appear to be. All production delays should be resolved before even one item is shipped. If you can't provide my product then please refund my money and I will stick with Zagg. Sorry to be such a turd but I need my screen protector now not after the iPhone 4 becomes obsolete!

I finally received my applicator today, only to open it and find the OLD version applicator with only 3 screen shields. I DID NOT request the old applicator, and even if I did, I did not receive the extra shields!

Got my perfect fit adapter today!
The shipping was USPS. It came in a silver ziploc type package. I have never seen a package like it before. I thought it was neat. 

The product came in the plastic package as Guy showed the backers in an update. My package contained 3 screen protectors, prefect fit adapter, microfiber towel, 4 applicator dots and a squeegee.
The package says that the Perfect fit applicator is pre-loaded. This was not the case for me. 

The applicator did not work for me as in the video. I credit that due to inexperience.
First, I placed the applicator dots in their respected holes.
Second, I placed the screen protector in the applicator being careful to line it up properly. 
Third, I peeled the "step 1" shield of of the screen protector. 
Forth, I carefully placed my phone in the applicator and pressed down. Then I pushed the phone out via the holes on the other side. Lastly I use the squeegee to get rid of the bubbles and lifted off the "step 2" shield. 

The first phone I did was slightly miss aligned. The second was a little better. Somehow a few dust particle got underneath. 

Overall, I am pleased with the. I think the pocket where the screen protector sits could've been a little deeper.
