About this project
KILL THE BAND is a NYC based punk performance art, shock - mock - rock comedy band and we are ready to record our first full length album and shoot a blockbuster mockrockdocumentary! We aim to make a one-of-a-kind album experience for the listener that mocks, rocks AND is a fully visualized comedy concept album (Bright Side Of The Moon?). This is not your mom's musical comedy album!
This album will include our greatest hits:
"Don't Attack Me With Your Happiness" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gViejtkJRrw
"Girl Balls" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMVGEy0ZAKo
"Clone U" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5ekx_H9Ik0
"See Something, Say Something" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GnEJ_cWWrk"
and Famous Baby...Plus B sides ("Space Invader"), rarities ("Mock Bottom"), deep tracks "(I Turned You Gay") sketchy songs ("Timing Is Everything"), Short songs ("Long Story Short") Surprises (??) AND a cover of Bad Teenage Moustache's "Ben Kingsley" will be recorded by KTB for the first time at Leopard Studio (http://www.leopardstudio.com) with a professional sound engineer (Jimmy!) and state of the art equipment. KILL THE BAND will spend 5 marathon days laying it down in the studio (and 6 nights on the couches in the studio listening to Mike snore, Joe fart and Killy cry), in a completely immersive recording atmosphere ALL to encourage the creative production of a fully conceptualized, one of a kind album (that you can laugh to)!
AND WAIT THERE IS MORE!!!!!
Tridango Productions (www.thecrabmovie.com & www.dielucasdiemovie.com) is shooting a "making of the album" documentary to be released in early 2012. In fact, the documentary is already in production and will include private rehearsal footage and memorable parts of the planning process, recording studio highlights, never before seen live performances, behind the scenes drama, interviews, a "studio confessional" where members can speak candidly about the process and of course all the breakdowns and breakthroughs of the experience itself. It's like a reality TV show but better because it's real! Think Spinal Tap meets TV's Survivor ...If everything happens the way it shouldn't (and it will), Killy will literally KILL THE BAND and all that will remain will be this AMAZING album and the show-all, tell-all mockrockdocumentary of how it all went wrong. Or right? It could go right, right? Either way it's gonna be intense and funny and embarrassing and weird and exciting and unique.
KILL THE BAND's album and mocrockdocumentary is also the ultimate in global audience participation - that's where YOU come in! Please make a donation to "Please KILL THE BAND". Help us bring you this unpredictable, unforgettable, hilarious, balls to the wall musical experience.
