About this project
Thanks for stopping by!
“The Angel in the House” is Virginia Woolf’s metaphor for the inner censor of writers—the sinister voice that whispers, “Don’t write anything controversial; be sweet; write only about sugar and spice.” Woolf instructs writers to kill the angel so that they may write freely and honestly. Following Woolf's message, Killing the Angel magazine will be for lovers of literature that breaks to the true heart of our existence.
Categories for submission will include fiction, poetry, nonfiction, novella serialization, author interviews, writing contests, and writing prompts.
When I'm not dreaming up new and exciting literary projects, I can be found teaching high school English and blogging about teaching, writing, and how the two intersect at www.JessicaRosevear.com.

I spend my days teaching high school English and my nights blogging about teaching and writing at www.JessicaRosevear.com. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing Fiction from The New School and an Ed.M. in English Education from Rutgers University.
I've been playing with the idea of starting my own literary magazine for the past year or so, and now I'm excited to make it a reality. During my time at The New School, I discovered two things: the genius of Virginia Woolf and the overwhelming literary talent of the community. I'd like this project to be a tangible manifestation of this literary passion.
