Why, Hello! My name's Kevin Johnston. My band and I want to share our music with the world; which means we need an album. We are SO ready to record! However, as truly independent artists, we lack the funds and support of a record label to pay for the recording process. We joke in the above video, but time in a real facility is kinda stupid-super-expensive. We do, however, feel very strongly about our music, and believe it needs and deserves to be recorded in a professional studio.

Awesome news! We have found an amazing and fairly priced studio in upstate New York that will allow us ample time to record almost all of our album! To illustrate that the amount of money we're trying to raise is NOT as ridiculous as it sounds (pun!), here's a financial breakdown of the process:

-The cost of the studio alone is about $3000 for the few days we have booked.
- In addition, skilled recording engineers need to be payed for their work (roughly an additional 1000 bucks).
- The next step is to mix the songs properly (like 2000 dollars)
- and master them (we figure $750).
- All the recorded content must be stored on a high speed hard drive ($200).
- Pressing the recording to physical CDs will cost roughly another $1000.
- Album artwork?? Get me some crayons.
- We are also booking time in a local studio to capture one of the most exciting ideas we've come up with: that of recording a huge group vocal of backers like YOU singing the chorus of our (ahem - rather anthemic) song End Of The World! This tacks on something like another 500 bones.

Woah, right?
Please keep in mind, these costs are actually quite conservative compared to the money spent recording "real" albums. Also, the cost lay-out above does not include the cost of food or gas during studio time. It doesn't cover the fact that we will all be taking off time from our "real" jobs (no vacation pay!) so that we can make this album happen the way it should.

Fortunately, Kickstarter allows an amazing platform for us to raise the money we need, and fortunately, YOU are awesome enough to consider being involved! Please check out all the cool and lovingly prepared rewards you can receive at the right of this page.

Oh - something very important i need to mention. The Kickstarter platform is an "all or nothing" style of fundraising. Meaning, if we do NOT reach our goal in the appropriated time, we will not make ANYTHING. Your account won't be charged, we won't make a record, and we won't get to all sing on it together. BOO THAT. Actually doing this sounds way better.

This project is an amazing challenge for us, and for me personally. It's one of the most important opportunities of my entire life so far. It's a project that we can (and I believe will) accomplish, but NOT WITHOUT YOUR HELP. We want to make this album. We want to make this your album as much as it is ours.
