..Weinberg-Harter is just the right amount of fussy kook infused with just a dash of likeable old man..
…Talent to aMuse does not disappoint...

Congratulations, Talent to aMuse Theatre, on your stylish, lively performance of one of Moliere's great plays. From the letter perfect comic antics of George Weinberg-Harter to the zany support of maid-to-order Sandy Hotchkiss Gullans to the exquisite blend of elegance and horseplay in Carla Navarro, this play is a joy! Don't miss it...these are the doctor's orders!

Great show tonight. I loved all the bits of action obviously dreamed up by your director. George and Sandy work so well together, as do Carla and Josh. ... Ms. Pearson STOLE that nurse scene! My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time. Thanks for the laughs.

The recipient of BEST OF picks by local newspapers in 2010 and 2011, Talent to aMuse's current project will certainly not disappoint!
The Imaginary Invalid, Molière’s last and, considered by many, best comedy is a satire of the medical profession. This farce, written to amuse King Louis XIV, is a hilarious send-up of not only the buffoonish doctors but conniving, unscrupulous lawyers, greedy scheming wives, and, of course, miserly hypochondriacs. Add in young lovers and a maid manipulating everyone and you have an evening of uproarious comedy that everyone will enjoy.
Rehearsals are already underway and they are going wonderfully! Still true to the intent and styling of the period, the play has been adapted for modern audiences with loads of ribald humor, classic slapstick physicality and amusing antics. Even so, much of the story is surprisingly still true today!
We are bringing a play to San Diego that is not often performed on San Diego stages, and now we need YOUR help in turning this masterpiece into a fantastic production!
Our main goal with this campaign is to RAISE OUR ACTOR'S STIPENDS!
They've been working very hard, and we want to reward them accordingly so please be generous! Our listed goal at the right is set lower than actual need (there are 11 cast members), so anything you can give is much appreciated.

Originally an 8-hr play, complete with ballet and musical interludes (what??!), we've thankfully pared it down to digestibly-funny 1hr 45 min.
ABOUT TALENT TO AMUSE:
Since 1999, the founders, Sandy Hotchkiss & Gail West, have consistently produced high quality productions, all with the aim of sharing seldom produced classical comedies and intriguing original works.
Most notably are 2010's Engaged by W.S. Gilbert, which received a BEST OF pick by the San Diego Union-Tribune, and 2011's quirky musical Emilia's Sugarplum Nightmare, which won a San Diego CityBeat BEST OF pick. The goal of Talent to aMuse Theatre Company, from its inception, has always been to both entertain and amuse audiences.
The first show of the 2012 season will be Moliere’s hilarious satire about the medical profession, The Imaginary Invalid. After last year’s successful Christmas show, the company will again bring laughter to the holiday stage with Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge by Christopher Durang.
