Update #6: Movie Poster!
It took some doing, but we are happy to say that we finally have a movie poster! We are particularly delighted that best-selling author Sonia Faleiro agreed to give us a blurb for the poster. We highly recommend her book, Beautiful Thing!

The poster is based on original artwork by Daisy Rockwell. (See last update for the original art work.) Design work by S. Ashraf Meer and Arsheya Rauf, with some modifications by me and Kellen Parker.
As soon as we can get these printed we will begin sending them out to everyone who donated. Thanks for your patience!
Update #5: Poster Art by Daisy Rockwell
We are really excited to have received this original painting from Daisy Rockwell which will be the basis for our new film poster (the one we will be sending to all the backers). We've long been fans of Daisy's work, which has included paintings of dictators and of the Egyptian uprising. In fact, for Shashwati's birthday this year I bought her postcards of Daisy's paintings. (You can buy some yourself on her Etsy page.)
At the time we were struggling with our film poster. We wanted something which had a hint of violence, but which also had a some humor - like the title itself. But we couldn't find a photograph or film still which captured the feeling we wanted. Then we thought of Daisy's paintings and thought of asking her. She ended up selecting one of my photos as the basis for the painting, but the painting transforms the photo into something iconic. We are thrilled with the result!
We still need to transform the painting into a movie poster. If anyone out there is a graphic designer, or knows one, and would like help, please let us know. I was thinking of using this Bollywood poster as a source of inspiration for the typography. Other suggestions are most welcome. As soon as it is done we will get it printed and mail it out to all of you!

I'm not really a graphic designer, but I do a bunch of communication design at work. I'd love to take a stab, even if just for kicks. This image is so great that the typography really should just stay out of the way. send me the cast/credits info and i'll take a stab this week? arvind dot venkataramani at gmail
