"The Little Painter" is a story that came to me in a dream. Now, it's my dream to bring this animated tale to life.
I shot up in bed. Never had this happened before; I had dreamed in animation! Everything was there: the colors, the sounds, the texture of the world and a whole cast of characters. And even more surprising, the entire story was there too. From beginning to end, the tale of "The Little Painter" had come to me in my dream. I grabbed the nearest piece of paper and wrote it down before I forgot. Now, after a year of recording, designing, and pre-production, The Little Painter needs your pledge to come to life!
Pierre is a tiny little painter who paints in the King's Court. One day, Pierre is tasked by the snidely Prince Deja Vu with painting a portrait of Princess Brulee, who lives in a far away castle. Nobody has ever seen the princess, so Deja Vu wants to see if she is pretty enough to marry. All goes well until Pierre enters the far away castle, and falls hopelessly in love with the Princess! He has a dilemma on his hands; if he paints a portrait of this beautiful princess, then the wicked Prince will surely marry her. How does Pierre save his true love?
With your generous pledge, I will be hiring my animation students to help me work on this film, upgrading my sound effects library and editing software, paying a composer to score the film, and paying for professional color and film-out of the film so it can go to festivals worldwide.
I've never been so excited as I am when I think about bringing Pierre's love story to the world. Thank you so very much for reading about my project, and I hope you consider pledging whatever you can to help me tell this charming tale of love and art.
