Update #11: Software! Also some bad news Overseas
Hey everyone, just wanted to give you an update as it seems there is a great deal of backers that have some questions about the software which wasn't included in the packaging.
We decided to offer it as a free resource, As the Slug will work with any recording software, we wanted show its versatility off.
The download page and instructions were provided in the link below which you should have received when we sent out confirmations of shipment. But for anyone who missed it or we missed, we are extremely sorry. You can view it in the picture below.

The software is still in an early stage and we are working to release updates to it so we can fix any bugs that arise. The MP3 file format isn't supported in our program yet, but you can still export recordings as MP3's in other programs (we highly recommend Audacity). Our software was developed in Adobe Flex, which many of you know was dismissed by Adobe a couple months ago. Because of this, support for Flex is pretty limited at the moment. We are doing our best to adapt to these changes, and hope to release an initial update to the software within the following weeks.
OK, so here is the part that has been keeping me up the past 2 weeks,
We received our first order of slugs and have shipped all of them out, about 95% of our backers received their order. We were promised delivery of a second shipment by last week and by the time the factory completed the order it was too late, Chinese New year took over, the entire country shut down, and not a single shipping company is open to send us the completed items, So we are at a standstill until Feb 2nd when we our manufacturer starts up again.
So For any backer and those who paid through paypal who didn't receive an update with shipping status it is because we couldn't get inventory by the promised date. We take full responsibility and are deeply ashamed it has taken this long to get everyone their promised orders. We sincerely hope you can take into consideration us being a newly founded startup and the unforeseen troubles that can sometimes accompany that unfortunately. We are determined to make it up to these individuals.
Again we want to show our appreciation to everyone here who helped make this project a reality and the amazing support we have gotten even given a few mishaps on our part.

Update #10: AND WE ARE SHIPPING!

We are continuing to test and package each unit individually and are starting to ship out our backers. A good deal of you will get a confirmation number and shipping number tomorrow so look out for it.
Also If you don't receive an email tomorrow please know you are next on our list and we should have shipping completed by the end of this week.
A big issue we need to bring up that we really hate to this late in the game is quite a bit of international backers failed to provide extra posted for their package.We have setup an international paypal button on our products page to suite the needs of these backers here.

We really hope you understand and we are still charging only the kickstarter rate of $10 for all international shipping. So take as much time as you need and be sure to email us with any problems you may have regarding this issue.

Update #9: GEARING UP FOR SHIPMENT
Hey Everyone!
Seena and I want to start by saying a huge THANK YOU! You all have been extremely supportive and patient as we are starting to finally get our feet off the ground.
By the end of this week we will have all the SLUGS SLUGBUDS and SLUGCARDS in our hands and will be working tremendously hard to make sure everything gets shipped out to everyone of you as soon as possible.
If everything goes smoothly, which we are quite sure it will, we will be sending out shipping confirmations to everyone early next week.

Update #8: FOR THOSE WHO COULDN'T ORDER THROUGH KS!
We heard alot of orders somehow didn't go through when Amazon retrieved funds from our backers. . .
So we lowered the prices in our online store to match the prices of our Kickstarter pledges!
We are continuing this Holiday-New Year's sale until the 1st of January. So if your order somehow didn't post or your friends didn't see our campaign while it was live, you now have a chance to still get everything at a discounted price!

Update #7: SOUNDSLUG IS A GO!
Seena and I are amazed at the response and support from everyone of you.
We are hand assembling and shipping every package to you as soon as we can so bear with us in the next few weeks until we confirm the actual shipping date.
Also, we are sending out surveys this weekend so keep an eye out for them!

Kenneth Gibbs is the co-founder of SoundSlug, an audio tech startup. SoundSlug is developed from concept to design by both Kenneth and Seena Zandipour. Growing up in a suburban community, Kenneth spent most of his time helping his father restore automobiles. At a young age, Kenneth discovered he had a keen eye for design. Starting with the build of a fully functioning miniature chopper at age 13, from there he moved onto restoring classic cars, soldering electronic circuit boards, inventing and creating products, and is now in the process of earning his engineering degree. The experiences and talents acquired at an early age have clearly carried to his adult life, and will continue to inspire his vision in both design and functionality.

Just got my slug today! Man the headphones you sent me are just supureb! Bass is doe on my ZeldaStep! Also I'm kinda much an amuture at recording music, and im getting into remix mix tape kinda music making Mind if you could do a Small Kine Tutorial on How to rock out on the slug!

Glad you love it Aludino! The response we have been getting with the headphones make us proud to call ourselves an audio tech startup. I will definitely do some tutorials in the near future.
