That's okay. The important thing is that it's a fixable issues. I already had Audacity in my computer (because of school) so I tried the SLUG using that and it works great. There's some volume distortion but that's my fault.
I cannot get the Slug to work in Nuendo (it's exactly like Pro Tools without having to buy plug-ins to get the program to boot up). I'm a bit bummed since that's what I work off of but meh. I tried pressing some buttons and changing some settings and all I could record was my TV playing in the background, which was recorded from my microphone in my laptop. So the slug doesn't want to work at all in Nuendo. Odd.

Glad to hear you received it Laura! I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Sorry again about the keychain being a pain.

I got my Slug today! Took my about an hour (sadly) to figure out the keychain . The plier trick worked in the end. Can't wait to try recording/ripping a stream! Thanks for the fast shipping and wonderfully sturdy packaging! It survived the trip into Canada without even a dent.

@KennyGibbs- thanks for the replacement chain! Slug works like a charm. Quality is is equal to the stream! I've had great success with Audacity for fine tuning. Thanks again for a reliable product!

@Kennygibbs Got the new key chains! THanks for the fast turn around. I have one more suggestion, and maybe to fund it use Kickstarter again cause I would totally back it!

You need to create a software that can auto save to MP3 but also can auto tag the music. There is other software out there that does this already, so I know it is possible. I Would fund this software project to have this made! (I'm on a MAC so please if you do, do it make it work on Win & MAC). Really the overall features I would want are:

      Save as MP3
Tag MP3 with ID3 data & name the MP3 accordingly.
      Auto Split MP3s.
Allow saving destination to be set.

Let me know if you decide to do this and I will help fund you right away!

      Kenny gibbs on February 1

      Thanks Gerry!
Wow that is an amazing compliment and we'll take it! A lot of hard work to get it to this point we are just glad everyone appreciates it.

Ok so the keychains have a locktight-type material in the threads, and because of no movement for this long they seem to have gotten incredibly tight. I would suggest to take pliers, grab onto the small stem and untwist the larger part with your fingers, It only needs the threads broken, afterwards it should be good to go.
Sorry for this inconvenience, it seems a lot of people are experiencing this. We will try to break the keychains in a little before we package them from now on.

Received my Slug late last week - just as quickly as you said it would arrive. Slug looks and feels great and packing is very impressive (I expected something less finished....even bubblewrap). You guys deserve a lot of credit - definitely one of the better projects I've backed in terms of planning and execution.

Looking forward to testing out the Slug soon.

Dumb question on the keychain - how exactly is it suppose to open? Not opening readily with a twist, so thought I'd ask before I break it.

      Thanks!
      Gerry

@Kennygibbs The Slug works great! Unfortunately same thing is happening to my key chain as well. Is it possible to get a new one shipped?

    18. Img_0629.thumb
      Kenny gibbs on January 29

Hey Tony, Incredibly sorry to hear that, the company used a locktight type glue on the threads so it would not unscrew easily, seems It may have held to well :/
I'll make sure to mail a few more out to you as soon as I am in the office tomorrow.
again terribly sorry, they should arrive later this week.
      Thanks for supporting!

Awesome to see the amazing responses here guys! We are ecstatic to see the tremendous support from the ones who made this project come to life. Also Gautham Chandra don't forget to use the gold knob to control the volume to your external speakers, Definitely don't want to have both the computer and slug at 100% volume with headphones in.Sorry I should have made that more clear in the instructions.
And Juan, Just checked, you are still on the list of unsubmitted addresses. Good to see local support! I just sent you a PM.

Got my slug today too. Quick feedback. Its great but if you dont set the volume of the song you are streaming to 50% volume instead of 100%, the audio comes out crackling as if you are overloading a pair of cheap earbuds.

Got my Slug today, packaging is awesome and it works like a charm! But, using the Soundslug software suite, I only get WAV files. The main Kickstarter page says it's supposed to be able to do MP3 as well ("The software that comes with the SLUG automatically splits up tracks based on silence, so you can leave a playlist of music playing that is free to public domain, and come back to whole folder of separated MP3s/WAVs."), but I can't find any option for MP3. Anyone know how to make it work?

Kenneth Gibbs is the co-founder of SoundSlug, an audio tech startup. SoundSlug is developed from concept to design by both Kenneth and Seena Zandipour. Growing up in a suburban community, Kenneth spent most of his time helping his father restore automobiles. At a young age, Kenneth discovered he had a keen eye for design. Starting with the build of a fully functioning miniature chopper at age 13, from there he moved onto restoring classic cars, soldering electronic circuit boards, inventing and creating products, and is now in the process of earning his engineering degree. The experiences and talents acquired at an early age have clearly carried to his adult life, and will continue to inspire his vision in both design and functionality.
