A science fiction short, shooting on 35mm film, about a soldier who discovers his true morals in the midst of a prison break.
No Horizon is a senior thesis short film we're shooting in Los Angeles this December. We are student filmmakers from California State University Long Beach, and have worked with each other many times throughout our four years. We have received Panavision's New Filmmaker Program Grant, which allows us to shoot the project on gorgeous 35mm film. With a beautifully haunting set, all the help we are receiving from our teachers and fellow filmmakers, and with the help from you and Kickstarter, we believe we can turn this project into a truly special short film. How Far Along Are You?
No Horizon is currently in pre-production. We have finalized our script, mapped our budget, and assembled our crew. We have found our location at Lauren Canyon Stages. We are carefully planning the film out every step of the way with our entire crew.
How's Kickstarter Work?
Anyone can pledge any amount of money, no matter how big or small. In exchange, we have a lot of fun and tangible rewards for your contributions. If we raise the $5,000 minimum in donations by the end of our 25-day Kickstarter campaign, the credit cards of contributors will be charged and we'll receive funding for our project. If we don't reach the $5,000 goal, no credit cards will be charged and we won't receive any funding. If we exceed the minimum goal, the excess funding will be put into making this production even better.
What's The Story About?
After a jailbreak on an interplanetary POW transport ship, a prison guard loyal to his culture an commander is shown the true nature of his lifelong enemy. Coming face-to-face with a captain leaves him questioning everything he has been taught. Should he continue to blindly follow the rhetoric of his society or finally make his own decisions.
