A documentary film that re-sensitizes America on violence.
In 2006, the son of filmmaker Paul Walker III was murdered in Kansas City. Though six years have now passed, for Walker there are still days that feel like the very first moment of the aftermath.
Now Walker has teamed up with filmmaker Kristian Day to produce a documentary intended to generate a greater understanding of victims and survivors of homicide. While the film will attempt to re-sensitize the public to violence, it will not attack the entertainment industry, as is so often done, or glorify the victims' assailants in any way. Rather, it will give a voice to homicide survivors and serve as a reminder to the public of what "reality" really is.
This experienced team of filmmakers will be traveling extensively to major cities, including Chicago, Kansas City, Detroit, and Los Angeles, where they will work directly with police officials, crisis advocacy groups, and families of homicide victims. Ultimately, the film will screen theatrically and be distributed on DVD.
The budget for this project will go towards travel expenses, footage licensing, DVD manufacturing, distribution fees, DCP authoring, and marketing costs.
