Who we are?

We are not a big corporation, we are not a non-profit organization, none of us were born wealthy, or care about getting rich. We are just a group of artists that love, believe & support the arts culture wholeheartedly. We live simple lives. We love to see dreams come true! The people involved with The Art Factory are all community oriented artists that believe in doing work that empowers not only ourselves but others.

What is the project/what we want to do?

We are bringing sustainability to the world of arts and entertainment. We host workshops, attend workshops, work with other groups and teach about sustainability. Still, not many people actually get to see a sustainable facility in action, especially not in the inner city. People have yet to understand it fully or believe it is a real solution. Many people are NOT even aware of how much it could change the world. We want to change that. There is no better way to prove a fact to someone than SHOWING THEM. That's what this project is all about. We want to reduce our carbon footprint and show the world that "sustainability" works!

We are going to RE-OPEN The Art factory with a all new "SUSTAINABLE" theme. Everything it takes to run the facility will be eco friendly. All waste produced will be recycled or made into art! We have also partnered with a organic chef who's agreed to provide fresh organic food & drinks to artists and guest. All the food will be grown or purchased from local growers. We are going to install a solar power system, a green house, a geothermal heat pump, a solar water heater, and a wind turbine system. Power for our arts and community space will be generated from sunlight and wind. Once a year The Art Factory will choose one family to donate and install a solar power system. The only thing stopping us from moving forward is the cost of the equipment.

What we need to open The Worlds 1st Sustainable Arts Center?

• 119 Gallon Solar Water Heater (with backup electric element) $2375
• 3 Ton Geo Thermal Heat Pump $7075.30

• 5% Kickstarter Fee $2338.85
• 5% Amazon Fee $2338.85

  (We chose grid tied system to avoid expensive batteries and housing units.)

  (The success of this Kickstarter project is just the start of it. Solar power, geo thermal, and wind power will help offset all operating cost and in some cases generate extra income. This will put us in a position to expand into other "sustainable" areas & activities as well. In the future we would like to go all the way with a organic farm, farmers market and more. We will use the facility to teach others about sustainable living. If people see it in person it will have a greater impact.)
