About this project
Auric Shelter is a ten-foot tall sculpture, which was installed in May 2009 at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It was designed to reduce students' stress during finals week, based on the theories of Chromatherapy (color therapy).
Each of the 300 Plexiglas panels were custom-colored and cut to fit the steel frame of Auric Shelter. The sculpture took one whole year for me to plan, design and construct with the help of many many people. However, it was only installed at the university for about a month.
My goal is to raise $4,000 to install this sculpture at different public places in Hawai'i. The money that is pledged after the goal is met will be spent toward installing the sculpture throughout the US.
I am hoping to re-install Auric Shelter at the University of Hawaii at Manoa as the starting point. From there, I would like to install it on different campuses, a museum, and other public facilities on Oahu.
Please pledge today! And help me make this exciting project come true!
