A collection of ideas, people, and moments that we think embody the beauty of existence.
TO EXIST was created with the philosophy that life is a matter of perspective. The film simply explores the question of what it means to exist and lead a fulfilling life. We looked back at all of our most beautiful experiences and interesting moments and compiled a list with the intention of capturing them all on film. To Exist is mostly scripted reenactments of those inspirations and milestones, but also a true documentation of the ongoing beauty of daily life.
So we gathered some equipment, booked our trips, and set out on a month-long journey that started in Lillian, Alabama and will end in New York City. As we write this, we're sitting in the town of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, resting from a day of shooting, ready to get up and start again tomorrow. We've shot a lot of good material, but we're not done yet, and we've got quite a bit to go, including an entire soundtrack to score to the film.
We've personally produced the film, and there's still more money that needs to be spent. So what we're asking of you is to help us break even with our costs so we can enter the film in to various festivals and provide you with the opportunity to see To Exist for yourself.

Shandy was a young boy who died at the age of 10 due to unknown causes. He will always be remembered for his... he will be remembered.

After the film trailer finishes rolling after approximately two mintues, a scene of what seems to be a birthday party unfolds. I will not explain anything about the meaning of this scene, but I will tell you that our film truly has no comical undertones in it. The scene has absolutely nothing to do with the movie. From its cinematography to its message, the "Birthday Scene" was just a different way for Holden and I to create our promotional video asking for donations.
