Update #15: Zabaleen at Harvard
We have the great honor to announce to you that we will be screening a “work in progress” and holding a discussion at Harvard’s Peabody Museum on April 5th.
The event is free and open to the public so if you are in the Cambridge, MA area, please come join us.
The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, and the Semitic Museum present film clips and conversation, “Garbage City and the Informal Economy,” on Thursday April 5, 2012 at 6:00 pm at Northwest Lab, Rm. 103B (52 Oxford St., Cambridge). The free event will be followed by a public reception.
Update #14: 2012
Hi everyone.
First and foremost, Happy New Year!!! Hope it started great for each and every one of you.
It's been awhile since our last update so I thought I'd share a few new things with you.
We are currently in post production in Beirut and things are going great. The film is really coming to life with the help of our amazing editor, Wajdi Elian.
We are also very excited to share a great article written about the film by Waste And Recycling News Magazine.
There is also a webisode that features our film as well as a snippet of audio from director, Justin Kramer.

The last thing (and probably burning question).... "What's up with my reward?"
Well.... I have an answer to that. Postcards, prints and posters are going to be going out this week. Please look for them in your mailbox soon.
Digital download links will be going out soon for your Hi-Res stills as well as the options for those of you who are entitled to a Limited Edition photo print.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to write us at: zabaleenproject@gmail.com
Thank you so much and wish you all well.
-The Zabaleen Team
Update #13: Taking it to the next level
We are proud to announce that thanks to your support here on Kickstarter, the film is officially in the edit. The very talented Wajdi Elian is busy cutting as I type.
We are so excited. The film is really taking shape.
In other news, we have confirmed an event with the Peabody Museum at Harvard University.
In April, we will come to the museum and show a "work in progress" screening of the film followed by a q&a with producers Carrie Vermillion, Lauren McCarthy and director Justin Kramer. The event will be open to anyone to attend. Once we have the complete details on the event, you will be the first to hear about it.
Also, we need your help.
Yes..... Again, haha. IndieWire has just opened the voting for their "Project of the Month" award.
We are in second place right now and need a MASSIVE push to take the lead.
If you have a Facebook page and 2 free minutes, we would really appreciate your vote.
Here is the link:

If we win this vote, we get a consultation with Sundance Institute!!!
We really want this to happen and with your help, we think we can do it.
Thank you so much for your support.
Happy holidays and happy new year!
-Justin
