About this project

This project is about food in our culture and in Japan...sung in Japanese.
This new project was born out of the success of my song "Debu" which means "fat".
((Yes that is me in the photograph...1 year ago...I don't intend on performing as the debu character in future videos or performances))

THE ALBUM Each song will be written about a particular food or eating habit seen in the USA:
ie. Peanut Butter, Super size soda, table size pizza etc...

THE EDUCATION The album jacket, proposed website and video will contain facts pertaining to the topic within each song:
1. The average American consumes 3 pounds of peanut butter a year
2. Peanut butter, in it's pure form, is made up of only crushed peanuts and salt, yet the food industry has changed this by removing the peanut oil and adding soybean oil for texture, sugar for taste and preservatives, altogether altering the natural food that peanut butter once was. (etc..)

THE PLAN I plan on completing a series of songs based on old personal food habits that I have managed to break, the American food industry and the degradation of the American health.

The end product will be exciting, fun, silly, interesting, strange, sad and all in all educating!

I will constantly keep my lyrics translated into English for those of you who don't understand Japanese! NO worries!

There will be videos made for each song as I already have a number of directors I plan on working with in St. Louis, Los Angeles and Tokyo, Japan.

THE FINAL PRODUCT
I will use the initial funding to finish and create a great sounding collection of songs.

From that point the goal is to have a comprehensive album to pitch to investors, producers and record labels in Japan for either licensing and full multimedia production (music videos and interactive website)

I've already received one letter of interest from a major record label called Pony Canyon located in Japan.

This project is the first of many I'd like to pursue involving Japanese music, American culture and education to help break down stereotypes and shed light on why things are the way they are in the USA.
これからアメリカ文化と日本文化の教育的な交流になる様なプロジェクットを多数実行しようと思っているところですが、今回はアメリカ人の食事生活を中心にして「でぶ」というなんでもの悪いものを食べるキャラクターを使って、アメリカ人の日常食生活に関してのステレオタイプはどこから来たのかと説明するためにア ルバムを作ります。

でぶ: theアルバム
「でぶ」はジャステン・ディセンゾが作る音楽のキャラクターとして存在します。日本人が考える典型的なアメリカ人 の不健康イメージを象徴しているキャラクターであります。このアルバムは聴く人に楽しく感じられる、教育的エンターテインメントとして作られています。

 アルバム中の音楽は、ディセンゾによるオリジナルの作曲であり、軽快感と美、そしてやや悲壮感が表現されています。

歌詞は主に日本語で歌われており、アメリカ人の不健康な食生活及びアメリカの食品業界の現状に関する内容になっております。

アメリカの食品業界そのものにアメリカ人の不健康の大きな原因があることは、一般的には認識されていません。日本人が考える典型的なアメリカ人の食事というのはピザ、ハンバーガー、コーラ、そして各種甘いもの。これらを特大サイズで食べるという強いイメージを持っています。このような食生活が全ての地域／国民に当てはまる訳では無いものの、この問題が非常に大きくアメリカ全体に大きく影響を与えていることは事実であります。そこで、「でぶ」がその音楽と歌詞によりアメリカ文化の不思議な部分と、その他日本人がもつ誤解を解くでしょう。

よって「でぶ」の目的は、日本人に米国人の食生活習慣と、不健康な物を食べるようになった原因を日本人に伝えることなのです。

「でぶ」のアルバムジャケット内には、一曲ずつ其々のテーマとなった食品についての歴史や問題、アメリカ食品業界全体における状況などを載せていきます。

＜歌詞＞
ピー ナッツバターという食べ物は単純につぶしたマメであります。長い時間置いてると自然の油が分離し、上に上がりますので、蓋を開ける度に混ぜないと美味しく ありません。そこで、ある食品会社が、大豆の油を部分水素化油脂を用いて加工すると混ざったままでキープができる事を発見し、それによってピーナッツバ ターのカロリーや飽和脂肪酸の数値が上がりました。そして、甘さを加える事によって子供にも食べられるようになると考えて、砂糖やコーンシロップを加える 事になり、習慣性も増えました。
ピーナッツバターはトースト、リンゴ、セロリ、クラッカー等に付けるものです。シェーキやケーキやキャンディーにも良く使われています。

アルバム

このアルバムの作詞／作曲／プロデュースは全てジャステン・ディセンゾです。

作曲は本番レコーディング前にデモソングは完成します。

ロサンゼルスのミュージシャンを使ってスタジオで録音します。

ボーカルとベースとその他の楽器はジャスティン・ディセンゾが演奏します。

プロモーションビデオをアルバムと同時に出せるように、一曲づつ完成した物を選んだ監督にお送りします。それぞれのPVは「でぶ」、アメリカ人、アメリカの食品、工場等を中心にします。

発売になる物は音楽のCDとPVのDVDを一つにした形になります。iTunesと「でぶ」のホームページからビデオと音楽もダウンロードができるようになります。海外で売るために、アルバムジャケットに表する歌詞を英語に翻訳して、ビデオに字幕を着けます。

日本語能力があるJustin DiCenzoはプローモションをする為に日本のテレビやラジオでの演奏やインタービューに答えることが出来ます。
日本で演奏するためにバンドを組んでライブの準備をします。演奏しながら、舞台に立っているバンドの裏にPVを流します。
