Bonjour! I’m Julie Meckler.
I was an actress in Paris for a while, but in 2008, I took a plane to America and bought an acoustic guitar. For three months, I travelled across America learning to play guitar and writing songs about the people, the places and the experiences .

J'étais comédienne a Paris pendant pas mal de temps, mais en 2008, je me suis envolée pour l' Amérique. Pendant 3 mois, j'ai traversé les États-Unis, appris a jouer de la guitare, composé mes premières chansons.

Now I live in Chicago with my band.
Maintenant je suis à Chicago, avec mon groupe.

There’s Brett Bakshis, who plays bass and guitar. We met in early 2009, and became very good musical partners, as well as great friends. He studied rock music in London for three years, and really knows his stuff!
Brett Bakshis, joue de la basse et de la guitare. nous nous sommes rencontrés début 2009 et depuis, que ce soit notre partenariat musical ou notre amitié, ça roule ma poule. Il a étudié le rock à Londres pendant 3 ans, et il sait de quoi il parle!

Will Phalen was introduced to me by a mutual friend. He is amazing at guitar, crazy sound effects and all the other instruments he plays. Before he joined the band, he recorded our wonderful three-song EP. http://www.myspace.com/mecklerjulie He will also be in charge of our new, full-length album.
Un ami commun m'a présenté Will Phalen. Il est un incroyable guitariste, s'amuse avec des effets délirants et tous les instruments qu'il sait jouer. Avant de faire partie du groupe, il a enregistré et produit notre magnifique cd de 3 chansons http://www.myspace.com/mecklerjulie . Il sera de nouveau aux commandes pour ce premier album.

The first time I met Shawn Rios, I asked him what he was doing for the next ten years, hoping he would say "Play with you, Julie." So far, so good! He creates interesting and unique drum parts that help bring our songs to life.
La première fois que j'ai rencontre Shawn Rios, je lui ai demande ce qu'il faisait ces 10 prochaines années, espérant qu'il me répondrait " Jouer avec toi Julie!" Pour l'instant c'est ce qu'il fait . youpi. Il crée d'uniques compositions rythmiques qui ensoleillent mes chansons.

Since April of 2010, we have been playing our music in and around Chicago. We've been lucky enough to play at such amazing and legendary venues as Subterranean, Schuba's, The Whistler and The Empty Bottle. Depuis avril 2010, nous avons joué notre musique un peu partout dans Chicago, dans beaucoup de salles de concerts légendaires. Last November, we began work on our first full-length album at Electrical Audio recording studio here in Chicago. We've incredibly excited to finally have a chance to record all of our songs, and have our friends both here at home and far away hear what we've been working on these last several months.
En novembre dernier, nous avons commence a travailler a notre premier album à Electrical Audio à Chicago. Nous avons tant hâte d'enfin enregistrer toutes nos chansons pour pouvoir les partager avec nos amis, spécialement les amis du pays lointain (...) Toute cette musique enfin bientôt pour vos oreilles.

But as you may know, good recordings can be expensive, and that's why we need your help.
Mais, comme vous le savez, enregistrer un album, c'est cher... c'est pourquoi on a besoin de vous!

We’re hoping to raise $3,500 to finish and master our album, and have it pressed on cd and vinyl. We’re offering some really cool rewards for those who donate, including advanced copies of our album, music or French lessons, and free passes to our shows.
Nous espérons récolter 3500 $ ( environ 2600 euros) pour finir l'enregistrement, et presser l'album en cd et vinyles. Nous offrons des cadeaux sympa (si si!) pour ceux qui nous aideront, comme une pré-édition de l'album, des t-shirt fait avec mes mains, des leçons d'anglais ou de musique ( vive Skype), et des passes pour nos concerts ( un jour on va débouler en France aussi)

If we raise more than our target amount, we will put the funds toward promotion, touring, and making a bigger name for ourselves. And if we don’t raise our target amount, your money will be returned to you. C’est la vie!
Si nous récoltons plus d'argent que prévu, nous l'utiliserons pour partir en tournée, et pour nous promouvoir. Et si nous n'atteignons pas les 3500 $, votre argent vous sera retourné, et nous, bah, tant pis.
