Hello & Welcome to my kickstarter page! With your help, I'd like to launch a 2012 spring bridal collection featuring handmade hair accessories.
About judith lauren designs & this kickstarter!
Judith lauren designs started after I got married in May of 2010. I designed and made my own bridal hairpieces as well as my bridesmaids. I got a really positive response, and in July of 2010 judith lauren designs opened on Etsy. I started selling handmade accessories such as vintage inspired hair pins, fabric necklaces, and various bridal pieces. On and offline judithlaurendesign has had over 100 sales. In the late summer of 2011, I had a desire to create a new bridal specific collection featuring some of the already popular bridal designs and some new pieces that are vintage inspired. I'm very exicted for launch this project just in time for the upcoming bridal season.
Your donation will help cover some of the expenses of the new line. More specifically, it will help cover the expenses to buy a new camera so I may photograph the pieces and put them on Etsy. (problem: my awesome photographer friend is moving, and I will be without photography for jld. solution: buy a new/better camera.) It will also help cover supplies associated with gathering and creating the new hair pieces. (e.g. marketing, craft show fees, fabric and other supplies)

Answer: I am raising just a small portion of what it will cost to launch this line. The camera alone I wish to purchase is around $1,000. Additionally, I am saving up to also launch a website and blog where customers and come and purchase the line there, as well as on etsy. I also travel to do many craft shows and bridal expos, and with that comes travel costs, booth rentals, and more supplies.
