Two years after this Kickstater project, I'm pleased to say Glyphish now contains 400 amazing icons, each in two sizes, two colors and vector format.

They're used in many well-known iPhone apps, plus some big names like Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, IDEO and CERN.

I raised 364% of my initial goal! I've been busy putting together a package of icons and stuff for everyone to download, and it'll be available later this week.

This kickstart closes in 7 days, and sometime shortly there after I'll publish the entire set of (what will be) 100 icons. You can see the existing 80 on glyphish.com currently and 15 not yet released here: http://www.twitpic.com/6vnc7 I need to make just 5 more to make the set a full 100.

Probably what I'll do is put the existing 80 up for download, and email all project backers separately with a link to the full 100. That means the last 20 in the set would be exclusive to backers for a while.

Two bits of cool news:

* If you're at WWDC -- on Thursday the 11th at 5pm, check out the session titled "View Controller Techniques" wherein Apple engineer Evan Doll uses some Glyphish icons in the presentation. Evan also plugs Glyphish icons in a Stanford iPhone developer on on iTunes U http://bitly.com/RNeL

* I've started preparing a set of icons suitable for Android. More on that later in the summer.

Finally, I wish I could think of some additional way to thank people who are pledging funds. If I can get 10 more backers, this project would be 300% funded, so tweet it up, tell your developer friends, post on iPhone dev forums and blogs, and let me know if you can think of some extra special icon-related way I can thank everyone who's supporting this project. Twenty days remaining, and in that time I'm going to attempt to make 5 icons every 4 days. If I can pull it off, the total number in the set will be a nice round 100. (Check out the six I just added if you haven't already.)

I'm ready to publish a layered Photoshop file containing all icons and layer styles needed for comps, plus as a PDF contact sheet with everything in scalable vector format, and maybe even SVG files too if there's any requests for that.

If I hit $1000 I'm going to do something extra extra special:

* Publish a full 100 icons total (20 more than planned)
* Include a cool Photoshop file devkit for making comps
* Include an Illustrator devkit, plus distinct SVG/EPS files
* Set up a way for folks to buy icon tshirts
* Get one of the icons temp-tattooed on my arm

15 new icons have been added to the collection since this project was kickstarted, and as of May 4th, $410 out of $500 has been pledged. I've got more icons on the way; hoping to hit a full hundred in June. (Maybe a t-shirt too...)
