The video above gives a hint about the passion I feel for writing a new book. But the Spin project is much more than just a book! The text is the pivot around which everything whirls. The project is multi-layered and far-reaching. It begins with phase one - which you're discovering now, thanks to Kickstarter - and it builds well into the future, both on the page and in the world at large.

When you choose to back the Spin project, you provide essential fuel for the three endeavors of the first phase. Your backing will allow me to dedicate myself to these works full-time so I can wrap everything for the holidays (books make great gifts!). Kickstarter funds will also fuel production costs for printing and recording.

The three parts are:

[1] Spin - a work of creative nonfiction expected to weigh in around 300 pages. Spin explores philosophies and concepts I've spent a lifetime refining about the nature of reality and resilience.

[3] Spin CD - an audio complement to both books, available Valentine's Day, 2011 exclusively for project backers. The CD expands on tangents from the texts and weaves literary and visual pieces together with original music compositions and spoken word reflections.

Phase two begins in 2011 when the Spin project launches a series of events to enliven the concepts in rich, memorable experiences. For those who remember some of my signature events (Arizona Tempest, Vivid Dinner at Kazimierz, Head Over Heels in PHX), you can count on the Spin project to launch similar revelries next year.
