Three years ago, God told Pastors Jim and Jennifer Wilkes to plant a church in Cleveland, Ohio with the sole intention of reaching people with the message of hope for a city desperate for the Love of a Savior. In June of 2008 Journey Community Church was started with three couples, and over the next 9 months, grew to 90 people. Journey Church launched their first “public” service on Sunday, March 28, 2009 with 374 people in attendance. The week following Journey official launch nearly 140 returned and grew into a strong congregation, the church continued to steadily grow.
In June of 2009, Journey Church added a second service and grew 400 people attending weekly within the first year, 650 in year two and now nearly 950 people in two locations call Journey home. With hundreds of lives changed and many more yet to be reached Journey Church has become one the 25 fastest growing churches under a 1000 in the country according to Outreach Magazine.
Over the last year, our Worship Leaders have felt the call of the Lord to write and record songs that reflected the church vision and mission to Love God and Love People, and on March 7 of this year the Journey Worship Team will be recording a LIVE Worship CD at Journey Olmsted Falls starting at 7pm, under the production of Jeff Quimby, with the hope of an early Summer CD release featuring original songs including “Love Song”, “No One Else”, “Sound of My Life” and several more!
