My name is Josh Hilden and I have been a Freelance Writer for the last five years. In Early 2010 I began work on the manuscript the became the Shores of the Dead Trilogy (Book One: The Rising, Book Two: The escape, and Book Three: The Last Stand). I attempted to interest a publisher in these books but as time has passed I have decided that I would be more comfortable making them available to the public myself.

The Shores of the Dead Trilogy stands at approximately 175,000 words and has been broken into three volumes. I know that many writers in recent years have taken a shot at the zombie apocalypse trope and some of the results have been amazing and some of them have been at the best forgettable. The angle that I have taken has more to do with the characters and their journey than with the dead themselves. They are the environment and the humans, the heroes and the villains, are the real story.

Synopsis:

The rise of the dead was sparked by the breaching of the barriers between worlds. The culminations of the actions of an evil older than the human race. In the span of less than one day the world is subsumed by the newly risen dead and humanity stands on the brink of extinction. The legions of the dead are lead by a prophet of pure evil and his converts who are determined to bring their dark master bodily to the earth to reign till the end of the time. All that stands between them are three separate groups of survivors that have been thrust into roles that they were never ready for. A young man with no confidence in himself and old soldier who has done and seen things that haunt him decade’s later head north leading a one group to potential salvation. A beautiful young doctor is forced to take up the mantle of leadership that she had thought she had left behind in the sands of the Middle East in order to protect those that look to her for strength. In the far north a small lake town survives the initial rise of the dead only to be threatened from within by humans that are more treacherous and diabolical than any of the dead. These three groups must come together in order to save the human race from the ultimate fate of death or slavery.

The publication of these books will be the culmination of a lifetime of dreaming and imagination. I thank you for any support you choose to give!
