Sent 2 pics a while ago, hope I make it to the list *fingers crossed* they're coming from khaleb.sealey@gmail.com
Thank you Joshua. Outstanding.
Got it. Gave it to my anthropologist wife for Christmas. You got a professional seal of approval.
the skull is gorgeous!
Just got mine hand delivered today! The postal worker almost didn't want to leave it on the porch because it was so windy he was afraid it would blow away. Glad I was home. So delicate and beautiful. Thank you for this wonderful artwork. Happy New Year!
Mine was delivered last week. It's just BEAUTIFUL! Thank You Josh, and best of luck with your future endeavors.
Argh....stupid auto-correct.... "people" should be "profile"... :-(
@Philip - I was using an off-the-shelf par can style lighting unit from Chauvet. These are intended for DJ's, clubs, architectural lighting, etc. I believe I was using the SlimPar 56... There are MANY choices out there, though. Just google "LED par can"... Some you can program the light color directly in the unit while others require connection to a DMX controller to configure the LED output.
If you want further detail, we can certainly take this off-line if you provide me a contact email... Or contact me directly through one of the websites listed in my people (click my name to see my profile).
Thanks for the feedback!
Craig, looks great. Where did you source the LEDS? Is that a self-contained lighting unit?
cool
Here you go, Josh.... and everyone.... taking pictures of LED lighting in a dark room is not my specialty.... and I'm using an iPhone, so not all the fancy extras for low-lux camera shots...
I will say that these pictures do NOT do the actual effect justice. It looks freakin' gorgeous when lit up via LED....
Here's the link (shortened) to my dropbox gallery with the Crania pictures:

Feedback and questions welcome. I only had a few minutes to try this and get some shots, so I'm sure I could make things look even better.... but, if you have access to the lighting, definitely give this a shot and you'll be blown away.
So pleased to hear everyone is getting the sculptures on time & is enjoying them...thanks for the feedback! Craig- need to see pics with the LED lighting
Joshua
Ok. I just tried the Large skull with a par 56 LED unit.... and it is STUNNING. Completely changes the look and feel. Will try and capture photos/videos tonight.
Received just then! So they have reached Australia in time to :) OMG its sooooo beautiful. Pictures don't do it justice!
My Crania Anatomica Filigre just arrived. Fantastic! Such a cool piece. Thanks, Joshua, for sharing this with all of us. Congratulations on a great project, I hope you do another one very soon.
uhm.... that's what I get for making up new words and trying to be "funny"....
SKULLPTURES
As others have mentioned, I received my large skull today. Very nice! I hope to try underlighting it with a small LED par can in the coming days and see how it looks. If its worthwhile, I'll snap some pics or a video and make it available here. It might inspire some others to try some similar display techniques for their skulltupres.... :-)
Thanks Josh!
I got my scull yesterday (in Israel) so your timing was just right. I really love it! Thank you and please keep me informed about future projects.

Outstanding job - great work Josh!
Mine arrived here in Ohio yesterday...I've been just staring at it and turning it over in my hands. So cool! Thanks Joshua!! Happy Holidays!
Hi Josh. Mine arrived in UK today. Looks so delicate I was a bit scared to hold it at first. But I got over that. Lovely piece of work, already attracting attention. Now I want a glass dome to display it in. What's the next project? Let us all know.
looks amazing in person! love it!
Thanks Again, Just got mine today, beautiful work!
I didn't expect how light it is. So mesmerizing to stare at.
Just got mine in the mail, very cool in person. Thanks again Mr. Harker..

@Josh Just wondering how things are going with the fabrication process. A few updates back you mentioned targeting early December. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi Joshua,
As we wait for funds to be released to you and printing to begin....maybe a quick update with some of the production process details to tide us over? Thinking stuff like time it takes to print each size, how many can be produced in parallel, will the entire run be done at once or will your fab shop require you to batch things so that other jobs aren't backed up because you sucked up all their capacity, etc.
Any of these nuggets of info would be interesting to know, further our own knowledge of various prototyping and production options for those of us who are DIY/maker types, and give us an idea of the sheer printer time required to execute sculpture rewards that far exceeded your original expectations.
Thanks!
I would love one in glass too if it can be done. Please keep me posted;) I can not wait to get mine, it will be my first art piece for my Xray theme office:) Merry Xmas to me.
It's definitely doable I just didn't offer the other materials in this project because of the costs. Next offerings will likely be in bronze & stainless steel. Also looking into silver, glass, & ceramics. I'll keep you posted.
@Joshua - would definitely love to see other rendering material options you are able to make available in the future. Keep this under consideration and let us know if and when this becomes doable.
may be offering in many more materials in the future...stay tuned!
Very excited! My bday is Nov 2 - 'Dia de los Muertos', so I have an affinity towards this type of art. This will be a great addition to my selection of original works. I read up on SLS, and see it can be done with glass. Any thoughts to a similar project in glass?
Thanks for all the kind words Everyone! Anything by 3Floyds or Stone Brewing is usually what I have in the fridge...CHEERS!
I have to know.... what kind of cold beer are you drinking? I'm having a cold one now as well ( Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale) . I'm really excited about your work!
Kia Ora from New Zealand (the land down down under - not australia!) I like everyone else cant wait till December for this special art piece. Everyone loves a bit of skull action, but Crania is freakin amazing! wish I could shake your hand so heres a virtual one.
Mucho thanks again
Craig
Dear Joshua,
Congratulations for this amazing project. You must have been blown away by the response. So looking forward to seeing this beautiful sculpture. Well-worth the wait.
Wish you all the best for your next art projects.
Cheers, enjoy the beer! Can not wait until December.
Looks like you did it Joshua! I shared it on my pages last night & know I got a couple of my friends to jump on board... can't wait for my little skully. ~X~
the multi-color would be awesome but I have yet to experiment with that. There happens to be a "color changing" paint (called chameleon paint no less) that works something like a prism in that it reflects different colors depending on which angle you're looking at it from. I may try that in the future. Unfortunately it won't be available for this run, sorry :(
To add for international shipping visit the project page, click "Manage My Pledge" & simply adjust your total. You don't get charged until project end so you still have some time to make the adjustment.
Hi Joshua, 2 things.
1. Can you do the multi colored crania for the $25 option as pictured on your T-shirt? I would really love to ask for this option please...am willing to wait at end of queu for this :-) !
2. I didnt add the international shipping as stated in update #2 as I saw an update #3 for international shipping updates but could only view the update *after* i pledge. But it seems like update #3 refers to #2, so how to add my shipping charges now that i have already paid?
that would be cool! :)
I wish glow in the dark was an option ... awesome work . cant wait to see it in person.
Only 4 days to go - I hope you make your goal. ;-)
every sculpture is basically be #1 of the edition since they are all built in lots rather than one by one. I won't know the edition totals until project end but have considered noting it on the accompanying project postcard. I will be posting it here as well for reference.
