WE’RE HAVING A GAYBY!

It costs a lot to raise a GAYBY! If you are a mother or if you’ve ever had one, we encourage you to join in the festivities. No gift is too small or too big! In return for your gift, we’ll be eternally grateful and also send you a musical party favor.
OK, enough of that. Here's the deal:
GAYBY, the feature version of the award-winning short film GAYBY that has played at over a hundred film festivals worldwide, is going into production this August. We are seeking funds. Please help if you can. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
Making an independent film in New York City in the current climate is definitely a challenge, but it is one we are thrilled to take on. Everything here is expensive, but we love our city and can't imagine telling this story anywhere else. With that in mind we are asking for your help and support.
What are we going to use your money for? Well, they say comedy is all about ... ... timing ... wait ... no ... timing. What we require to make our film truly soar is the best editorial and post-production services we can manage on our budget. We have enough to make our film, but we will need a bit more in order to finish the project in a way that will look and feel as great as we know it can.
We truly cherish any contribution you are willing to make for us. In keeping with our song-title prize theme we have:

A synopsis of GAYBY:
Jenn and Matt are best friends from college who are now in their 30s. Single by choice, Jenn spends her days teaching hot yoga and running errands for her boss. Matt suffers from comic-book writer’s block and can’t seem to get over his ex-boyfriend. They decide to fulfill a youthful promise and have a baby together… the old-fashioned way. Can they navigate the serious and unexpected snags they hit as they prepare for parenthood by trying to get their careers and dating lives back on track? GAYBY is an irreverent comedy about friendship, growing older, sex, loneliness, and the family you choose.

Jonathan Lisecki's first short film, Woman in Burka, won multiple awards, including the 2008 Spirit of Slamdance Award for its debut, and appears on the 12th edition of the Wholphin collection DVD. His second short film, Gayby, has played at over a hundred festivals since its debut at Slamdance in 2010. Gayby received jury prizes at the Philadelphia, Rhode Island, Outtakes Dallas, CineSLAM, OutFilmCT, and Arizona Film Festivals, and was shortlisted for the Iris Prize. The film was selected Best of Fest at Palm Springs ShortFest, Inside Out Toronto and several others, and was named an outstanding short of Outfest by indieWIRE. Gayby is available on iTunes via McSweeney’s and has just been released on DVD by First Run Features. Before turning to filmmaking, Lisecki directed, produced, and performed in a ton of independent theater in New York City. Lisecki is currently working on a feature length version of Gayby.
