Married team and filmmaking duo Joke and Biagio started Dying to do Letterman out of their one-bedroom apartment six years ago. Editing on an Ikea kitchen table, they put all of their money into making this movie instead of buying better furniture.
Have the items been sent out yet? I never received anything. Thanks! xxx
STEVE: Thanks everyone--what an amazing campaign!
Congratulations everyone!
Congratulations Guys and Gals! Now it's time for the World Tour and Oscar Award du jour!
I just wanted to share this story with you guys because I thought it was interesting. Bear with me it does relate a little bit to last night's show.
A few months ago I was hired to work for a company pending completion of my thesis. It seemed like it would be a perfect fit and I was really excited to start. Fast forward a few months to this morning (still working on my thesis) when I got a phone call telling me the company went bankrupt and I've been laid off before ever starting the job.
I'm telling you guys this because I realized halfway through the day that I wasn't feeling sorry for myself at all and that every time I talked about this with someone I was cracking jokes left and right (I mean my last projected start date was this past Monday. If I had met that deadline I would've moved into town over the weekend, worked for two days, and been laid off on the third day. Rough situation but lucky escape all at the same time) even though it's a pretty awful situation, especially for 1100 other people who are suddenly out of a job. Kind of like what you guys were doing last night for a situation that was far more serious than mine.
So without even thinking much about it, I think I took a lot of inspiration from last night's show and I'm still feeling upbeat about this whole situation even though I just lost my job. Who knows what opportunities might come up as a result of this? I certainly don't, but I'm looking forward to having a new opportunity to shape my life in a different direction.
Thanks again for coming on NSFW. I said the same thing 21 hours ago and I mean it more than ever now.

Thanks for coming on NSFW. You guys were awesome as always.
I hope that you meet your new goal of $100k, I did what I could since I'm also trying to get my project on Kickstarter funded. Thanks and help me if you can. All the best, Baxies
LOL...you guys are hilarious...and Gordon....nice going!
Gordon! All we can say is "Thank You" and we'll TRY not to tempt you with anymore goodies :-) Your generosity is GREATLY appreciated, and we only hope everyone else can be as annoyed into raising their pledges as you are! Seriously, thank you.
Okay, guys, that's the second time I've increased my pledge because you've sweetened the deal with additional goodies.
So cut it out. I don't care if you add a custom pot-holder or lanyard hand-made by Steve at summer camp. I'm sticking with my current pledge now.
Not even if I could choose the colors of the gimp used to make the lanyard.
STEVE: Mind Twin Media--you WILL see it one day...hopefully soon!
STEVE: Great idea Tracy....#D2DL
I would start using #D2DL hashtag on anything we post... :)
Ok...we have 32 days to go folks...I have put the tagline in my signature...do we have Hashtags created so we can tweet and create a stir surrounding this campaign? Let me know...if not we should start one and get every backer to tweet, tweet, tweet....
i'm looking forward to seeing this one day!
Benj: Thank you for being #500! Great to have you!
Tracy: we agre!
Zak: so cool to see you use the free graphics! We hoped someone would find them useful, and your video looks great too boot!

Woo hoo 500! Awesome job Benj!
Honored to be the 500th Backer!!! Can't wait till theres another LA Screening to bring some people too. You guys all made a wonderful film that should be shared the world over!
Steve here---thanks to all for the great work you've all done in sharing this project with others. Incredible. The contributions are great, but to see people so supportive and gung-ho about sharing the project with others is nothing less than amazing
Steve, Joke, Biagio, Denise and rest of the team,
After watching every single one of the update videos, I feel even more inspired. Your determination and passion for your dreams is something that I aspire to. It is such a large mountain to set out on a dream no matter what happens. I'll keep coming back to your project for inspiration and hope that I'll one day be able to report good news. Thank you.
Hi Mrs. Israel!
Steve here... thanks so much for your support and now for wanting to up your pledge. So great of you.
All you (or anyone else reading this that wants to increase pledge) is go to your Kickstarter profile and where you donated, and instead of the green "donate" button that used to be there...you should; see a BLUE "Manage My Pledge" button. Rather than donating again, you just adjust your original donation amount...so in your case you'd change the $100 to a $200.
If that still doesn't work, let me know and we'll figure it out.
Thanks soooo much. You really are incredible.
S
I have donated 100.00 Dollars but want to donate another 100 Dollars-- I am having difficulty doing it on line- as I did before. What can I do? Mrs. Jane Swick Israel
Congratulations! 418! Sa-Weet!
Congratulations on your success! I still remember you reading the part of John Proctor in The Crucible, Biagio!

Wow!!!!!! you did it!!!! hooray hooray!!!
Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeesssssssss!!!!!!!
I predicted 11am CST tomorrow but DAMN! You guys had to go and prove me wrong in a BIG way (and a GREAT ONE!). Go go GO! You are on your way to bringing this "Little movie that COULD" to the nation, the Oscars, and the world! Congratulations team D2DL!
Found you via indieWIRE. Looks like an interesting film. I heard great things from some friends at Cinequest. I wish you the best at DocuWeeks and beyond. Thanks for sharing your crowd-funding expertise. I'll be referencing your campaign as I build my own.
I cannot believe how much you are kicking butt on this campaign, guys! Go Team D2DL!
WOW! An old friend of Steve’s turned me on to this film and I couldn’t be more excited for you. Congratulations on your continued success. That hometown win in Cleveland was awesome! Everyone loves to see a native rock the house! It will be especially poignant to my students when they analyze the movie next semester in my film class. I teach around Steve's old stomping ground and went to school at NIU also. It’s so cool to have some Midwest motivation. I can't wait for my students (and anyone else I can get my hands on) to be inspired by this funny, delightful journey and its universal significance. It's an added bonus that we get to imagine a few less degrees of separation to the creators! I'm so proud of you all, the spirit you have driven within us, and I’M DYING to see you win an academy award!!!!!!
Dan - Thank you so much -- please tell your friends! We can make it happen!
Dave -- Love you back and THANK YOU for your pledge! Still want to make a show with you!
Chris: What a great comment! Thanks so much! Honored to have you on our list of backers, and so great that you found us. Hope that beer was icy cold and delicious! BTW, Arj Barker, who I believe is big over there, is in the movie, too!
A hearty congratulations to you all on the fabulous win in Cleveland today! I know you will make your short term 1 week goal!!!
Love you guys.
G'day Joke and Biagio from Australia,
As someone who regularly treads Kickstarter, I was amazed to find such a professional and deeply passionate approach to this project. Even the momentum that you received donations is amazing.
I for one certainly hope that you reach your mini-goal of funding a 60 day campaign in just 7 days, and have time to spare to get into the six-figure region.
I'll be cracking open a beer in celebration and anticipation for this project to succeed (no doubt that it will) and for you to win an Academy Award!
All the best for you and Steve :)
Chris,
Sydney, Australia (Upside-down land)
:P
Scott: YOU ARE AWESOME. Thanks so much for the kind comment and awesome pledge. We're hugs fans of yours too -- and your kind notes on the early cut of this movie really made a difference. Thanks for being you.
Congrats on all your success -- this is just the beginning. Happy to say I was a fan of yours before you win an Oscar and everyone jumps on the bandwagon.
