Help us bring a whiskey distillery back to Chattanooga almost a century after Prohibition.

We call this story “The Return”.  It’s time to bring whiskey back to Chattanooga.

Tennessee, a state recognized for patriots, volunteers, natural beauty, music, and whiskey, was home to an entrepreneur that established a trading post and a community on the banks of the Tennessee River.  The year was 1816, the man’s name was John Ross, and the community would later become Chattanooga.

In 1866, a half century later, the most recognized Tennessee whiskey in the world would be created just 85 miles from our city.  The very same year, a Chattanooga distillery by the name of JW Kelly & Co. would also be created.  Over the next half century, Chattanooga’s whiskey industry would thrive with more than 30 documented distillers and wholesalers, largely contributing to the Tennessee whiskey movement.  Unfortunately, because of Prohibition, the last distillery shut down in 1915.

Today, nearly a century has passed since the last distillery operated in Chattanooga.  As a city recognized for outdoor enthusiasts, craft brewers, entrepreneurs, artists, and innovators, a major piece of Chattanooga’s heritage has been forgotten.

It’s time to bring whiskey back to Chattanooga.

Chattanooga Whiskey Company's 1816 Reserve and 1816 Cask were created because we enjoy great whiskey with great stories.  Currently distilling is illegal in Chattanooga, but we are working on getting the law changed and we need your help.

Support our Kickstarter campaign and help us bring whiskey back to Chattanooga.  In return we will BURN-ETCH YOUR NAME ON OUR DISTILLERY WALL!

Where does the money go?

Your money will be used to help us take the next steps in building a distillery downtown.  While we need as many names as possible on our distillery wall, Chattanooga Whiskey Co. wants to buy a bottling machine and begin some of the manufacturing process in the TN valley, just outside Hamilton County.  If we’re fortunate, the law will change soon and we can use this money to begin building the distillery!

Our Rewards

(We will add photos of our rewards over the course of our campaign.)

THE CORKSCREW - With a wooden handle and etched with our logo, no other corkscrew will do it justice.

How Kickstarter Works

It only takes $10 to support our campaign to bring real Chattanooga whiskey back to Chattanooga. We also have more rewards for higher levels of giving. You can find them on the right-hand side of the page. In order to pledge your support, you only need an Amazon account, which is free. We only receive funding if we meet or exceed our goal of $10,000; you won't be charged anything if we do not meet our goal of $10,000.
