Make "Waterland" real . . .
The making of my new album “In Waterland" has been a long time coming. All the songs were written between 2005 and 2008. I started the recording process in the spring of 2009, and now, in late 2010, the album is ready to be mixed, mastered and manufactured. I am hoping that I can have all this done by December 31, 2010.
I have chosen an excellent engineer, a trusty, well-eared individual, to mix the album for me. Mastering happens after that, then comes the manufacturing of the physical disc -for all those “older” people who still like to buy actual compact discs (you know who you are). This includes the CD cover design, which will be beautiful, I hope.
Also there’s the website to consider. As much as I love Facebook (*) I still consider my website to be the main portal of love and sharing between me and my listeners. If you’ve checked it out lately however, you’ll notice that it is in dire need of a face lift. This should ideally be done in conjunction with the release. You know, it’s all part of the marketing plan. Actually . . . my website *is* the marketing plan.
Everything is to be done extremely low budget except for the mixing. That’s the most important -and most expensive- piece.
In exchange for your contribution, you will get some nice Jodi Shaw trinkets, which get bigger and better the more you give. The real reward however, is that you get to be part of the process. You get to help an artist who is trying to get her record finished and out into the ears and hearts of the citizens of the world.
Which brings me to my next point, which is, even if you can’t contribute much, you can still help me out a lot by spreading the word! The best way to do this is to go to the area underneath the video above. There are a bunch of icons there. Click on the one that says "Email." You will be prompted to enter an email address. Choose someone you know who might like -or even love- my music. Doing this simple thing can help so much! And of course you can do this as many times as you wish!
And in case it wasn’t already implied, I must say that I would be grateful and honored to have you be part of the process.
There's one more thing: I need to raise ALL of the money by the deadline or I get NOTHING! That is how Kickstarter works.
If more money than anticipated is raised (yay!) it will toward supporting my next project.
