Update #10: Update on new site

Posted on January 6, 2010

I sent out notices to all contributors this week. Some of you haven’t logged in, so here’s another notice. The new site is ready for preview and you can now set up your profiles. Premium Members can set up a Photo Album with up to 5 images, Associate Members get a listing of your name, specialty and website. Those members who have pre-paid should sign in as Alpha Members. The URL is http://www.professionalfineartnetwork.com/.

There are some items that are public for now until we go live, such as the opportunities and discussions which will be member-only. We also have a guest speaker doing a teleconference at the end of February at a date to be announced. Lynn Basa is the author of “The Artist’s Guide to Public Art, How to Find and Win Commissions” and is an expert in the field. This first teleconference will be free for members, others scheduled in the future may incur a nominal fee.

Now that I have the layout of the site done, I’m working on the design/feel/colors and the current banner image which is a placeholder for now. If you have an image that represents business/art, or an installation photo of one of your commissions that would work in that space, please send them to me for consideration. You’ll get credit for your image which will be placed on all pages for a year.

The plan is to go public in the next week or so, and I’ll be doing a PR blast at that time. If you have any questions, please email me at professional.fine.art.network@gmail.com.

Update #9: Update

Posted on November 30, 2009

Once again, thanks so much everyone for your donations to pFAn!

To those of you who are owed a print of my work: I'll be in touch within the next week with your print choices. You'll be able to pick one of a few. If you have a specific request, email me and I'll let you know if it's doable joanie@joaniesanchirico.com.

Attn. Canada friends! There's an error with your transactions. It's something with Amazon payments and I have no control over that. If you don't want to bother with them, and still want to contribute, please go to the blog index and used the PayPal link there on the top right side http://professionalfineartnetwork.blogspot.com/

The new website is already in production and we hope to be on track for a January 2010 unveiling. You'll be able to log in and upload your own profile, so I don't need anything from you yet.

If you have any other questions, contact me. Have a good week!

Joanie

Have a safe holiday,

We're almost at the finish line. I can't thank you all enough for helping make this project possible!

Update #6: Checking in

Posted on November 20, 2009

Well, things are going well. We started the new site today!

Right now, I don't need anything from you all yet, but after the end of this funding campaign, I'll be in touch with directions. You'll be able to upload your own info and images to the new site after you log in, so you won't have to send me anything.

We hope to be live around the 1st of the new year. It's really happening!

There are still 5 days left in the Kickstarter project, so keep spreading the word.

Update #5: .... and it's a go!

Posted on November 11, 2009

So excited! WE made our goal with time to spare! But this is just the beginning, more funding = more features on the site for artists, fabricators and consultants/dealers/administrators!

Thanks to all of you for your contributions. It's affirming to know that others believe this is a necessity for working artists like I do.

We still have 14 days to go on the fundraising project, so keep spreading the word!

Yay! I know for me, I've been meaning to pledge since your first post--so seeing it a few times reminded me, and today, I thought, let's do it now, before I forget! So it was definitely effective for me that you re-posted on linked in!

My work is unique in that it incorporates painting, photography, or stitching in such a way that challenges the viewer to decipher how the work was made. I have a busy exhibition schedule and I work closely with architects, designers and consultants to create site-specific commissioned art.
