If this fundraiser is successful, it will:

1. Mix, master, press and release the body of music "Night, the Different Painting," by Jonah Michea Judy.

2. Record additional accompanyment (drums, cello, vocal harmonies,) to the already recorded solo material (the more funds, the more possibilities.)

3. Repair JMJ's touring vehicle, a 1961 Rambler Classic Deluxe station wagon.

4. Provide the Rambler gas for JMJ to hit several major cities in the US to promote the release of this new CD project (your city??)

The breakdown:
$500 Records final overdubs.

$1,500 mixes and masters the second disc.

$2,700 pays Media Services to create the glass masters and press 1,000 copies of Night, the Different Painting- Shrink-wrapped, barcoded and delivered to the painted deserts of Arizona.

$2,500 restores the Rambler's original engine.

$500 = gas to hit Albuquerque, Seattle, Phoenix, Tuscon, NYC...wherever the Rambler may ramble!

Kickstarter will take 5%, and Amazon will take another 3-5% of total funds raised, so the more I raise, the more possible this all is.

I have been working on this music for over two years- independently, and with the help of Jack Cote and Another Circle Music (Tacoma, WA.) I've been scraping everything I can, and working hard (as a carpenter, musician, unicyclist, teacher, sometimes grocer,) to support my family and make this music.

The first half of this two-disc set was recorded and mixed at Dark Horse in Nashville, TN with engineer Colin Heldt. Among artists who have recorded there are Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, and Matchbox Twenty, and the quality is outstanding. It was mastered at the Grammy nominated Kitchen Mastering (Ani Difranco and numerous other artists,) in Carrboro, NC. The finished master has been sitting in my electric guitar case since June 2010.

The second disc was recorded at Modern Recording in Chapel Hill, NC with Chris Stamey (The Rosebuds, many artists on Merge Records, etc.) I recorded this album while in Durham, NC during my mother's 10 month hospital treatment. She is planning on providing some vocal harmonies for this disc.

To finish, the project needs a few other instruments recorded (if I can find the right players,) then it will be mixed, mastered, and pressed!

I am going to press the discs with Media Services out of Omaha, Nebraska (Rilo Kiley, Cursive, etc.) I used Media Services for my last two cds, if you've seen them you know what kind of work they do. The end product will be nearly twenty songs on two discs, complete with an amazing multimedia booklet by my partner and artist Nicole Celeste Anderson.

The Rambler was a wedding present from my parents. Nicole and I drove our baby home from the hospital in it (she's 2.5 now,) and toured for my music to several places before its engine blew up in 2009. It was in storage in Oklahoma for an entire year before be were able to get it home to AZ. Now it's here, just waiting to come alive again.
