Growing up I had the privilege to be nourished by the food of my grandparents, which was always a great source of comfort for me. My grandfather was an amazing man who survived multiple wars and relocations by feeding people and sharing his love of food. After the death of my grandfather last year at age 99 I realized that not only did I lose him, I lost the opportunity to document his recipes and thus part of my family history. This realization made me determined to honor his legacy by seeking out and chronicling the recipes of other families. Thus the concept of Family Secrets was born.
Family Secrets is a new documentary style cooking show concept designed to celebrate the home cook in the most intimate of spaces. The show dishes out wonderful food stories from the heart and soul of real American kitchens and highlights the profiles of contributing families.
In wondering where my food comes from, the stories that unfold on Family Secrets will hopefully inspire others to share and evaluate their own relationships to food made with love. I am interested in all things that feed my senses and nourish the soul,
...and I am determined to shoot my first pilot episode!
The money generously donated in support of this project will go towards the production of the Pilot Episode of Family Secrets.
The breakdown of cost is as follows:
- Labour (my young and talented professional crew has already generously donated their time, expertise, and love into this project for the sizzle reel! Much Love & Respect! But in order for us to move forward with this project, I need to pay them what they deserve for the hard work and long hours. Their brilliance is worth a sustainable living wage.)

Travel to Production Locations (Carrying expensive equipment on the MTA, and perishable food to locations is well, part of the fun, but inefficient to boot)
I have a few interested incredible families lined up and ready to share with us their coveted family secret recipes. They are ecstatic about the potential to capture their own stories about food, family, and love on camera!
