Update #16: Making It Happen
First off, I just want to say thanks for all your support. I'm hard at work on the second volume of The Dead Don't Die and I hope to be posting new installments on the Working Class Press website this summer. I'll let you know when you can expect to see some new work when I get a little farther along. This is going to be a big year, and I have some rad new projects in the works that I'll be telling everyone about very soon.
All of the backer rewards have been sent out, and a few came back because I didn't have a current address. I'll try to message these backers individually, but if you haven't received your rewards yet, please let me know and I will remedy the situation. In general, if you haven't received your rewards, let me know! Also, if you've had a chance to read book one of The Dead Don't Die feel free to post a comment here on my kickstarter page.
Thanks!
Update #15: HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Hello backers,
It's been too long. Good news, though. The books are on their way. I approved the proof and it looks great. It's definitely taken longer than I'd hoped, but on the plus side, it's given me time to work on The Dead Don't Die: Book Two. Book two is shaping up nicely and I'll begin posting new installments on the web in early 2012.
The books should be here either this week or next. I'll post another update when they arrive. Please let me know if you're address has changed, as I thought I'd have the books during the summer.
Thanks so much for your patience and you're continued support.
Jim

Sorry for the delay, Jason. I got called into jury duty right before Christmas, so I haven't sent everyone's rewards out yet. I have about 15 more packages to send out. You'll be getting yours in the next week or so. I'll be posting a more detailed update chronicling the many obstacles I've dealt with over the last several months. This has been a huge learning experience for me. Thanks again for your patience!

Update #14: The Dead Are (Slowly) On Their Way
Wanted to give you all a quick update. The book is at the printer and I'll be receiving a proof soon. This has been an epic process, but that's to be expected. This is an epic book. Things are taking longer than I (and you probably) would've hoped but it'll be worth the wait.
I'm also hard at work writing and drawing book two. I'll be posting some new artwork very soon on the Working Class Press website, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Have a great week.
Update #13: GOING TO PRESS
Hello everyone,
I wanted to address a few delays with getting the Dead Don't Die printed. These delays have been addressed and I'm happy to say the book will be ready to send to the printer by the end of the week. The reason for the delay (aside from post-graduation fatigue) has to do with the interior color of the comic. This is my first color book and I really wanted to take the time to make the color look awesome.
I got an advance print run made for the Stumptown Comics Fest back in April. While I thought the books looked great, the color was a bit dark. So I've taken the time to brighten each of the pages slightly (but not too much as I want to keep the moody tone intact) and I've been digitally painting the characters so they jump out form the background a bit more. This has been a slower process than I anticipated, and I wanted to make sure my backers knew what was going on.
I hope to get the books by August and to you all by the end of the summer. I'll be posting more new artwork and updates as the project progresses.
Many thanks again to your continued support and your patience.
Update #12: HELLO BACKERS
I realize it's been a little while since I posted an update and wanted to remedy the situation.
Last Tuesday, I gave my thesis defense lecture to a very crowded room full of people, discussing the ins and outs of my project The Dead Don't Die. It was very thrilling to be the focus of attention for about an hour, though now that it's passed and I'm nearing graduation, I'll be able to focus more on getting the books printed and other incentives I promised you all. This whole process has been so rewarding that I'm pleased that this project will continue beyond the thesis experience.
Thanks again for all your support and I will continue to regularly post updates as the project moves forward.
Best,
Jim Hill
P.S. I'll be posting new artwork from The Dead Don't Die soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
