Affirmations are powerful, and are an art within themselves. So many of the lasting changes and healing in my life experience have had much to do with affirmations in one form or another.

Everything in our world has been created by a thought or a chain of thoughts setting the world in motion. The same holds true with music. I've been a musician for more than a minute...performing, recording, and journeying across miles and worlds in order to share, create, and recreate art. The songs and artwork that appeals most to me always has something to do with upliftment.

When I found out about Kickstarter, I found myself inspired to get involved, and to create something that would more tangibly benefit, rather than only entertain folks. I envision something that you can walk away with, feel good about, bring ongoing feel-good's.

My plan is to create a self-produced indie CD featuring all new material with the purpose to affirm and uplift others. The genres of music I have played and recorded are many: indie and alt rock, conscious hip hop, electronica, soul, folk music, and so I imagine the release will be an amalgam of them all on the mellow side. Songs you could rock in post-party celebrations, in a massage room, for romance with your Honey, yoga sessions, anything with tenderness and soul. I've been told after many shows and sessions that my artistry inspires others, and I am enamored with the idea of creating an indelible feeling like that, that is more lasting.

Most of my projects prior to today have been collaborations (you can hear some of those at Myspace.com/Jianda, and on the Om Lounge 10 CD), and in this new era on the planet, I've felt inspired to heal from within, declare an independent voice before breaking back out into interdependence with others. That is an affirmation in and of itself that something like this can be done.

Financials:

$2700 in Donations Requested.

$1100 - I was quoted a CD packaging plan of over $1000 a month ago.

$1100 - Production, software, and studio/mastering costs.

$500 - Indie Marketing & PR setup and planning including preliminary merchandising, setting
up distribution points/channels, so that the work can be shared with others.

I plan on documenting the process as I go along, and document with full transparency the use of all funding as things progress as well. Donors will be gifted with delicious and yummy care packages of appreciation.

Words are forming, reshaping themselves. My song Stay in Love was a wish, and a dream, and a song I created in the interest of staying rooted firm in love. It's for this reason I'm including that song as my video pitch. I hope you enjoy it.

I Affirm that The Affirmation Project, this healthy baby, is now being born, and I envision that it is successfully funded and sees the light of day, indelibly inspiring others to find their own healing, growth, and affirmation. And so it is!
