About this project
MISSION STATEMENT:
Art helps you see the larger story of who we are and what we're doing. It's a window into the human heart, and for that reason, it's not a luxury but a necessity. Without a heart, there's no will and no reason to live. Art and music saved my life. It showed me the ways to my heart when all other roads were burned. All I want to do is follow that road and forever dwell in the moment of creation.
Writing this EP has been a long and rewarding road. Now, after months of recording I'm almost there. Thanks to the generosity of wonderful friends and musicians believing in this project, the goal is in sight.
Now, I face the final stage of the process; mixing/mastering and duplication. But in order to get this kick-ass EP into your hands, I need your help!
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Blue Heart Hour combines hard-hitting drums and soft synths with playful, catchy melodies weaving lyrical depth into a pop tapestry of modern sound-scapes, reminiscent of NIN and Imogen Heap. The music is at times dark and raucous, at times angelic and vulnerable.
ABOUT JESSIE
Blue Heart Hour is a musical project led by me, Jessie Friedman.
I've had a pretty crazy life growing up as a single child with an eccentric-painter mom, traveling all over the world. I grew up in Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Spain; all by the age of 10.
Having had such unusual experiences has certainly given me a different perspective, and it's given me a lot to write about.
I've written poetry (rhyming and free verse) since I can remember, so lyrics are very important to me. Ultimately when I write, I want to get to something universal. I’m all about great lyrics and a great story. I’m taking something that can stand on it’s own with a guitar, and arranging it in new ways with all different kinds of sounds and weaving it into a sonic landscape.
