OOOOK, Backers!!!!! Here we go!!!! It’s time for some really GOOD news!!!
The past couple of months have been a whirlwind… between working on this EP, continuing to work my waitressing job at the golf course to come up with money to make this record extra amazing (while also keeping the electricity turned on in our apartment), dealing with some crazy difficult color edits and other random things that arose throughout the design process in order to make sure I was releasing a product I am 100% proud of…and somehow writing new music in my “free time”… Phew! I have been one busy lady! ;)
But there has been something else going on—something so incredibly exciting I could hardly contain myself—that I’ve been keeping under wraps until I could officially announce it. Well, today I can finally officially announce it!!!
Of course, you all are among the first people I want to tell, as it was you who helped all this come to be. Let me explain: Because you so kindly donated to this particular project of mine, I was able to immediately get into the studio and start working on these new songs, whereas it would have taken much longer for us to get our funds together. As far as the actual release is concerned, it may quite possibly have taken me years to come up with the money to go through the entire recording process—from recording to release—all on my own.
Now, in my opinion, it was this newest batch of songs (along with a few other random happenings) that brought me (quite literally) to where I am today. At 3:00 p.m., I officially signed my very first PUBLISHING DEAL!!!! with Sony/ATV, and ya’ll… I could not be more excited!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow, the opportunity to sign with this amazing company is humbling and beyond my comprehension. How very blessed I feel! Seriously…me?!? Wow.
So, to recap: 1) I released a single, and 2) I signed a publishing deal. I’d call that one very productive day. Tomorrow I’ll wake up and wonder if this was all a dream.
I cannot express to you how fortunate I feel. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping me take the steps that furthered my career. This is very much a dream come true for me. Please keep me in your prayers as I make this exciting transition and begin this amazing journey. Pray that I do well, meet and exceed expectations, and find a happy home in Sony/ATV. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.
