"Autumn" is a signed and numbered photography book that will be produced in a limited edition of 500 copies. The book will be the quintessential expression of my photographic efforts to date, and will explore one of my favorite subjects in recent years—the story of autumn in the Rocky Mountains. The viewer will be taken on a visual journey that not only pays tribute
the visual boldness of the season, but also explores lesser known
moments of found beauty ... all through moments and meditations that reveal the magic of a dying season.
The book will also serve as a dedication to those who have realized a certain level of inspiration from my work over the years—especially those who have asked for something to put on their coffee tables.
The editing of photos, the writing, the book design and the selection of printing finishes are well under way. I have selected a printer who is known for fine art publications. The only piece of the puzzle missing is complete funding. To compliment the "do-it-yourself" nature of my effort, I am asking for funds to a) enable production, and b) to help shape the final presentation of the book—which will be finalized upon completion of this funding drive.
At minimum, I will produce an elegant, softcover edition featuring refined printing and binding—a presentation that will compliment the quality of the featured photographs. However, if the giving exceeds my projected goal, I will redirect the surplus into improving the book (hard cover binding, etc.) ... if the surplus matches my printer's estimated costs.

TECHNICAL SPECS: The book will contain 144 pages (11"x8.5" horizontal format) in a smythe sewn binding. It will be printed CMYK with spot varnish throughout. Pages are 170 gr. with a 300 gr. cover, matte laminated and spot varnished. This edition will be 500 numbered copies.

The images I see through my camera are meditations on found beauty within the world around me. And though I appreciate the inherent beauty of things, I am more interested in the happenstance discovery of a beauty that is more elusive, unassuming and ephemeral. I seek out opportunities to make photographs within these fleeting moments of solitary perception.
I explore the aesthetics of the accessible landscapes that surround me (of both grand and diminutive scale), cultivating a more acute awareness of the depths of true beauty that wait below the surface of things. The selective vision of a camera viewfinder intensifies this experience. The exposures I bring home are a means of dwelling in the refuge of imagination found within simple moments of beauty.
