Update #1: Reached our minimum goal in only one day!
Our deepest, most heartfelt thanks to those of you who helped us reach our funding goal in less than 24 hours! Your support is incredibly encouraging, and it makes us all the more determined to make the Up! Fair a terrific experience for everyone.
While this ensures that we can meet our minimum operating needs, we hope people will continue to pledge. We'd love to do more to make the Up! Fair successful, including:
• Purchase advertising in the local newspapers
• Supply local schools, libraries, book stores, and comics stores with printed media promoting the fair
• Obtain wrist bands for everyone who attends the fair
• Print "Workshop Attendance" cards. The public would have these cards stamped after each workshop they attend, granting them free comics and other swag upon filling the cards.
If you can't pledge, then we hope you will help us out by blogging about this fundraiser or posting it to your favorite social networking site. Word of mouth is the single most important element in making an event like ours successful, so every mention counts. You can get some Up! Fair banners to post on your website here!
